Hi everyone. About to start a new league. 2qe, 2te, idp ppr.
8 team. Start 2qb, 2rb, 2te, 2 flex, then several idp. Full ppr with te 1.5ppr.
Picking 7.
My thinking is I need to get a top te with one of my first picks, as fewer top tes than qbs.
Is this a flawed thinking and I shouldn't be over emphasising the te here?

I still think TE is a value pick and don't overdraft. I have a bad gauge to measure that on because last time I played a start 2 TE redraft was like 2010 and I punted the position when value was not there. Ended up taking Gronk and Jimmy G in the double digit rounds. Both broke out huge of course. If you can't get one of the top few, I would definitely wait awhile.

I think only being 8 teams reduces the importance of the 2qb and 2te some. Not nearly the scarcity of a 12+ team league with those settings. I would not reach on TEs early.

You didn't write how many starting WRs. Still, TEs are the gold standard here. I'd be drafting early often, figuring that they could also be valuable flex players.

being only 8 teams i would for sure target a tight end with youre 2nd round pick unless you think kelce or ertz will last to the 3rd round.
