How would you target a 2qb, 2te start-up?

Postby Londondynasty » Sat May 19, 2018 6:40 am

Hi everyone. About to start a new league. 2qe, 2te, idp ppr.

8 team. Start 2qb, 2rb, 2te, 2 flex, then several idp. Full ppr with te 1.5ppr.

Picking 7.

My thinking is I need to get a top te with one of my first picks, as fewer top tes than qbs.

Is this a flawed thinking and I shouldn't be over emphasising the te here?

Cheers for any insight

I still think TE is a value pick and don't overdraft. I have a bad gauge to measure that on because last time I played a start 2 TE redraft was like 2010 and I punted the position when value was not there. Ended up taking Gronk and Jimmy G in the double digit rounds. Both broke out huge of course. If you can't get one of the top few, I would definitely wait awhile.

I think only being 8 teams reduces the importance of the 2qb and 2te some. Not nearly the scarcity of a 12+ team league with those settings. I would not reach on TEs early.
Team 1 (12 team standard, q/r/r/w/w/f/t/k/d)
QB: Brees, Dak
RB: Bell, D Johnson, Fournette, Penny, Lynch, Conner, Foreman
WR: Brown, Diggs, Dez, Lockett
TE: Gronk, Graham
K: Tucker
Def: Jags, Texans

Team 2 (12 team PPR, q/r/r/w/w/w/f/t/k/d)
QB: Wilson, Dak
RB: Fournette, Kamara, Michel, Kerryon, Blount
WR: Beckham, Thielen, Enunwa, M Williams, Beasely, Amendola
TE: Eifert, Hooper, Gesicki

Team 3 (12 Team PPR TE Premium, q/r/r/w/w/f/f/t/k/d)
QB: Wentz, Luck
RB: Hunt, Fournette, Ajayi, Kerryon, Lewis, Foreman, Ito, Ballage
WR: OBJ, Cooks, ARob, Lockett, Snead, Westbrook, Pettis
TE: Howard, Herndon

Did y'all notice that it's also 1.5 PPR for TEs?

You didn't write how many starting WRs. Still, TEs are the gold standard here. I'd be drafting early often, figuring that they could also be valuable flex players.

2wr.

I don't think it's going well do far.

After 8 rounds my team is

Watson
Henry
Hopkins, Allen, cooks, Robinson
Kelce
Njoku
Mack

I've gone all in on the zero rb policy. The top ones were off the board by the time I picked 7th. There never seemed to be value so I kept going wr. Feel like I need to try to drag it back slightly.

Will update with how I finish!

Luck is still there. Not sure whether to pull the trigger on him in the next round or not...
