Adrian Peterson, at this point, what are his best landing spots?

Postby JTLoh » Mon May 07, 2018 8:22 am

I think he is going to Miami for sure. Or no, wait, Carolina. Maybe back to Minnesota for depth.
I'm sure the Texans could really use him. Packers would be great as he could get revenge, TWO TIMES a year!

What do you guys think?

I think reuniting with Norv Turner in Carolina makes the most sense for him. All the CAP truthers that I didn't know still existed aren't gonna like to hear that lol.

The annual AP to Dallas talk could kick in at some point.

Realistically I kinda don't expect him to get signed and to just quietly fade away into retirement.

I think he can still play - just depends if he is willing to accept a backup role & low salary - but he is the type of back who needs a fair # of carries to get in a rhythm and I'm not sure - barring injuries or what not - that that will ever be available for him. Arizona for those few games may have been the best fit.

best place is retirement... I truly think it is, while he can still play - with the influx of young rb talent I think he's going to not have a job available to him

Dammit!

I clicked on the thread just to say that.

Completely agree. He didn't look to have much left in 2017, and another year older I think he should call it a career.

Back to MN just to retire a Viking.

Honestly won't be surprised if he puts up another big game or two somewhere this year though.

He didn't look like he had much left in '16, either

The general sentiment is that he's done or should be, but he says he intends to play. Anyone think he is worth a roster spot in hopes of catching lighting in a bottle one last time? I would guess he's likely to get signed if he really wants to play and is willing to take a back up role with incentive-based contract. Of course he needs an opportunity to be featured.

I've got a playoff team and can see the value of stashing him even he was only good for a couple starts. What's the over/under on 100 yard rushing games this year, maybe 1.5 or 2?
