Goodbye Dez! Goodbye Witten! Hello any Cowboy Draftee

Postby mlynarcm » Fri Apr 27, 2018 11:34 am

Does the loss of Dez and Witten, make any pass catcher that Dallas drafts fly up the rookie rankings?

If they drafted Sutton, would he become a top 3 rookie pick again?

Yeah not really sure who would available would fit the WR mold they need for Dak. I thought they were gonna go Ridley and really is the only WR in this class I think could perform there right away with his route running and the way Dak plays. Sutton reminds me of another Dez and we know how that went

RIP my Dak shares lol. But yeah any WR they draft to succeed there should be a good route runner and excel at seperatimg over being a dominant presense. IMO Sutton and Washington aren't good fits but Miller, Gallup and ESB would be

Before I say this... I'M NOT A COWBOYS FAN

Had to get that out of the way. Im not sure you can call it a bounce back at least from fantasy aspect. His stats might not look too amazing, but he had the 9th highest QB points (279.9, 18.66 avg) in my league last year.

Whatever he's doing, even with the offense going through Zeke and Dez being finished as a reciever, it appears to be working

Gates or Barnidge would be cool stop-gaps for the Cowboys. But I think Dak actually likes Rico.

Zeke will get the ball probably 30 times a game, they are strengthening the o-line even more after drafting Connor Williams, who was a steal, imo, at 50th, plus they had signed Cameron Fleming to a 1 year deal, who at the very least, is a good swing tackle. This o-line is loaded, yeah, I know the WR corp doesn’t look great but I think it can be better than expected by spreading it around plus they just drafted Michael Gallup, so all hope is not lost. They can figure something out on TE, if Witt does indeed retire.

As for WR, I hope they look into Decker, Maclin, and Brandon Marshall. Maybe trade for a 2015 bust and see if they can turn him around. Kevin White would do well with the team if he can stay healthy.
I'd pass on Perriman though. He's got size and speed, but too many drops, and also injuries.
DGB would be cool on the practice squad.

Seems like a complementary WR to me, not an alpha. PFF likes him a lot, though.
