Considering this depth-chart, Ridley should move to the slot in 3-wide, meaning he'll be the Falcons receiver that gets to face the most variety of cover-men every game. If the DB he's usually facing in 2-wide is getting the better of him, then he might fare better against the slot-corner he faces in 3-wide. And vice versa, of course. I like it for fantasy when WRs move around like this, instead of living only on the perimeter or slot.

I was hoping Ridley would go to a team without a designated slot specialist for this reason. Slot snaps in 3-wide should also help mitigate his issues with press coverage.

i'm guessing best case scenario is similar to what JuJu did last year. worst case is a growth year, as is the case with most recent highly drafted WRs.

really hard for me to envision a scenario where he is more than a WR2 that you wont know when to start.

much like Pittsburgh where juju is behind AB and Bell ,Ridley will be the 3rd best option behind Julio and Freeman (and Sanu is more involved than Bryant was)

he can contribute right away like juju did IMO
team 1

If this bumps Ridley into the top 6/7 then I support it.

Is it just me or does this feel like a Hopkins to the Texans with an aging Andre Johnson?

If they did this 3 years from now it would.

Seems like a great landing spot for the Falcons and Ridley.. but not for dynasty owners. #2s are nice to have for emergencies, but championship teams aren't built on 2nd and 3rd options. He's an easy avoid if he's in the mid-1st range for me.

Disagree with this. How many true WR1s are there? Less than 10 I’d say. There are many WR2s that have a lot of value. Diggs, Marvin Jones, JuJu, Agholor, all put up WR2 numbers being 2 option.

Especially does this depend on league format. My league starts 3 WR and 2 flex. That’s 30-50 WR being played each week. I don’t disagree Studs are important, but If you can have depth and a WR2 putting up fantasy WR2 numbers that’s pretty dang valuable. Just my 2 cents :)

The thing I worry about with Ridley is him following the Sterling Shepard path. Undersized #2 on his team who is a Mid-1st round rookie pick who puts up solid numbers for the first few years only to see his value drop steadily every year despite playing pretty well.

I think the best buy time for Ridley is going to be a year or two from now.

lol, did he kill your puppy?

BTW remember that Hopkins was behind Tavon Austin and Cordarelle Patterson on this forum in 2013...no one thought he would be an elite talent.

Definitely a good pickup by the Falcons. They needed some WR depth. Hopefully they use Tevin Coleman out wide some more this year too. He can do work there.

Disagree, though my leagues are/were non PPR. Hopkins was the first WR off the board in both (1.01 in one of them).

1.6, 1.6, 1.7, 1.5, 1.3, 1.7 are the spots he went in my leagues that had rookie drafts in 2013. I know its splitting hairs, I am just saying that Hopkins was not the clear WR1 according to the "experts"

Hopkins at 1.1 in non-PPR drafts is definitely a major outlier. His ADP in non-ppr was 1.06 and he went lower than that in my non-ppr leagues.
