i dont recall ajayi having his bone on bone condition be a secret that was leaked 24 hours before the draft, i am guessing michel is gone by end of round 3 at the very latest.

i'm hesitant to believe the report being circulated, its also extremely vague

Knee issues aside, give me Chubb. He was an absolute freak his first 18ish games. Barkley before Barkley. I would rather bet on him as a talent to have a better NFL career. He’ll never be what he was on pace for but for him to come back, continue his success at Georgia, absolutely murder the combine, tells me all I need to know about his work ethic and discipline. I will bet on him first having a much longer career than Michel.

Yeah it's odd that this knee issue of Michels comes out now instead of after the combine. The draft resources I have seen have never mentioned a knee issue before and they are fairly well connected too!

conspiracy perhaps? Teams throwing shade? Smells fishy to me. The timing is just WAY too tight in this case. How in the world has this NOT come up before now? NFL = reality tv drama in many ways.

thank you! i cannot believe how many people are freaking out when it seems obvious to me that this is at the very least very suspect (the timing and lack of ANY prior worries)

Michel is decisive, which is more important to perceived 'burst' than many realize. Devonta Freeman's and LeSean McCoy's broad and vert jump scores aren't reconcilable with their tape, either.

Chubb was very decisive in '14 and '15 (before the Tennessee game, ofc), but less so after the injury. In '16 and '17, there was hesitation in his runs that wasn't there before. My question: was that just him making a business decision (i.e. "I must preserve myself for the NFL"), or actual athletic impairment? His Combine numbers suggest the former.

That said - I think people are going to reconsider how high they have them when Ronald Jones goes ahead of one (or both) of them.
Not me. I mean, Gio went before Lev Bell. Hope that didn't change anyone's mind.
..oh, but it did.

Hindsight is 20/20, though.
I wouldn't say the draft changed people's mind, I always liked Bell more but the consensus easily had Gio ahead of Bell well before the draft. Bell was a pretty mediocre prospect. If anything the draft boosted his value and got him closer to Gio than he was pre-draft when he landed on a great offense.

Uh, isn't this exactly how it happened with Ajayi? If I remember correctly he was a consensus day 2 guy until pretty much right up to the day of the draft.

Not saying Sony will go through the same thing but characterizing it as if we knew Ajayi was going to slide months in advance is incorrect I believe. It was last minute just like this.

As an aside I went back and looked and it looks like yes, Ajayi's condition coming to light was every bit as last minute as this if not moreso.

Bell wasn't a game-changing talent until he lost some weight after his rookie year, significantly improving his quickness.

Correct. He was a consensus round 2 guy, with some analysts placing him as the RB2 of the class (above Gordon)
