Just an update (and I don’t want to turn this into a trade thread or anything), but the deal was offered and accepted (and is now awaiting league vetoes - if any). The only caveat was I had to add Tyrod Taylor (not a huge loss).

BTW - here is my current lineup (w/pending trade)
QB - Aaron Rodgers
RB - Alvin Kamara
RB - Jordan Howard
WR - DeAndre Hopkins
WR - Kenny Golladay
WR - Jermaine Kearse
TE - Jack Doyle
Flex - Tarik Cohen
Flex - 1.02

The depth is terrible in a 28 man roster. It’s riddled with players like JD McKissic, Mike Gillislee, Seth Roberts, Brian Hill, Christine Michael, and newly retired Danny Woodhead + Martellus Bennettt - who can’t be dropped until the Draft.

Now it’s time to hope the trade goes smooth and look over 1.03s roster. Thanks again, everyone!
You have just accepted another comment from Clarion by this statement, I think. Vetoes?!!!!! Are we not grown ups?

The other owners are the last &%$#^*% PEOPLE WHO SHOULD DECIDE IF I CAN MAKE A TRADE , they have a conflict of interest automatically and only a handful of commissioners should be trusted with that authority . In the unlikely chance I wander into a league where vetoes are possible the first trade I get vetoed and I am out that day .
If you persist with an archaic veto process you alone should decide, as allowing owners to vote on trades is like allowing 2 wolves and a sheep vote on what is for dinner.
Clarion has some thread that ramble on but many of them contain great wisdom. Someone just needs to copy and paste this on every thread suggesting or asking if a veto vote is warranted.

veto leagues are for whiners and amateurs , the solution for collusion is not veto but expulsion.
It is my team to run as I see fit ,I do not need or wish for your approval to manage my team.
When I am in a roster crunch situation I will happily "lose" a deal to gain what I see as a value upgrade at a position because if I cut a player then I get absolutely zero for him .

If I have 3 cows and only have grazing room for two should I ?
a) give away the 3rd cow
b) butcher the cow and have a steak
c) call all my neighbors ask permission to trade the cow for a hay wagon and a goat
d) quit the wussy veto league and find a league with competent managers and enjoy the right to manage as I wish .

Yeah never say vetoes around here. Lol

Thanks for posting roster, do you have 2.01,3.01 btw?

Solid trade return for 1.01, if I had that team in a 12 teamer I’d move 1.02 down for more picks. Your WRs after Hopkins are awful. A 3rd starting rb seems like your a playoff threat but those flex wrs will lose you games. I like the idea to move down i. Increments but I would be open to trading with everyone, you never know who is going to overpay. It also will give you a sense of how your new owners value players.

I ended up trading into the 1.01 for 1.06, Derrick Henry and Evan Engram.

I have traded out of the 1.01 FOR

Todd Gurley
1.04
1.12
2019 2nd

Its a contract league so Gurley's value is slightly depressed due to his two year contract at 7 million this year and then 25 million next year, but it was too much value to pass up. I may end up trading back with the 1.04 to accumulate more back end 1sts and move the 1.12 for a 2019 1st.

A few of my ideas as I head into my draft in a few weeks. My team is in win now mode so I might just grab the impact player at 4 also.

Oil Boom wrote: Sat Apr 21, 2018 7:41 am Hello all. This is my first offseason in Dynasty and I had such a good time this past season that I decided to take on an Orphan a couple months ago.

This team (12-TM, PPR) is pretty bad, but does have some good pieces to build around (DeAndre Hopkin and Alvin Kamara).

I also hold the 1.01, and was curious if anyone has experience in trading the 1.01 to the 1.02 Owner for a good chunk of change, and then turning to the 1.03 Owner and see if he wants to deal for the 1.02 (which I’ll assume is Guice).

I’ve talked to the 1.02 Owner and he noted that he would possibly give 1.02, Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen, and Aaron Rodgers for the 1.01. This initial offer is what has me curious if I can keep trading down to accumulate talent instead of just outright trading Saquon for X package (which so far the offers have been underwhelming).

Thanks for any insight!
Just take it. I would take 1.02 and Rogers probably but to get all 3 + 1.02 is too good to turn down imo

^^^ Yep, I did take it although it was hard to give up Barkley. This was too good of a package.

OP here, and thought I’d give a little insight as I now have the 1.02 and have been talking trade to the 1.03 Owner.

I now have an offer of 1.03 + 1.05 for my 1.02. This was his best offer so far, and I’m halfway tempted.
This would put me at:
1.01
For
1.03, 1.05, Jordan Howard, Aaron Rodgers, and Tarik Cohen.
And I would be looking at dealing 1.03 to the 1.04 Owner, as he is a very trigger-happy Owner, especially when another deal is made.

Edit - and it was a bit funny how he responded (after initially saying he wasn’t interested yet) when a blurb came out that Sony Michel may have a worrisome injury history.

My goodness. I'd agree to that deal even if the owner lived three time zones away and required me to sign off on it in person.

I'd trade the 1.02 for two mid-firsts in your position. To get 1.03 and 1.05 is as big of a steal as the initial trade. I'd then see if you can trade one of those picks for a solid WR2.

Taking the 1.03 + 1.05 deal now.

Sorry if I turned this into a ‘trade thread’ or anything. Just thought it would be fun to show others about this method.

The trade to 1.04 (from 1.03) will be a bit of a challenge. Simply because I feel I can get the best RB not named Barkley or Guice - who lands in a good situation. I’m still gonna give it a go to continue this.

I really wish I would have done this sooner (pre-NFL Draft) since it may be hard to convince the 1.04 Owner to move up if his mindset is, “I can just take X here if X is gone).

Either way, thanks for listening and all the great comments. Much appreciated!

At this point I might just hold the 1.03 and see if you can deal the 1.05 for some WR depth. See if you can turn the 1.05 into something like the 1.09 and Jordy Nelson, something like that?
