Value of 2.05 in 2019 picks

Postby ravn88 » Sat Apr 21, 2018 3:54 am

My Rebuilding team got the 2.05, and as of right now i dont have any players i really love at that tier/pick.

I can always pick DPA if I dont get a trade, but i really like the potiential of the 2019 draft..

So after the 2018 draft next weekend i was gonna try sell it..

But what is realistic to ask for that..
A Contenders 2019 1. rnd or 2 x 2rnd ? (maybe 2019 and 2020)

Info: Owner of 1.01 got 2.12 and owner of 1.12 got 2.01 I think we call it snake draft..

first a dynasty should not have a snake draft
second - I would want a 1st minimum if deferring pick a year , I would also attempt to garner some faab $ or a fringe player as well but regardless save a confirmed offer for a 1st ; I wait until the pick is OTC as you just never know who might drop in your lap.

Yikes rookie snake drafts make future 2nds and 4ths somewhat unappealing to acquire from rebuilding squads and easier for contenders to use to keep them on top. Go for the future 1st - better to shoot for Mars and end up on the Moon, than the other way around.

Usually a pick of an actual rookie draft is equal to max an half round higher the year after IMO.

Mid 2nd 2018 = Late first 2019 (Example : 2.06 = 1.12)
High 2nd 2018 = Mid/Low first 2019 (Example : 2.01 = 1.06-1.09)
Low 2nd 2018 = High/Mid 2nd 2019 (Example : 2.12 = 2.02-2.05)

Buts since we are not sure what the order will be in 2019...i really never switched a pick against a pick one year later...either i trade down, either i trade it, either i draft. More simple.

Essentially because we have to wait one year and values are relatively known in this draft class when it's not the case yet for 2019. Otherwise i wouldn't see why there is a difference between 1.10 2018 and 1.10 2019.

I've already switched, a 1.12 to a 2019 that i expect to be around 1.04-1.08 range..

I just tryed this:

Send my 2.05 and 2019 5. rnd -> 2.02

He countered with my 2.05, 4.01 (48 overall) -> 2.02

I bet that pick 2.01 and 2.02 is alot easier to exchange into future 1. rnd than 2.05

They definitely are, and I would happily swap 4.01 to move up to 2.02.
