Chicago mix is terrible. Probably why it's Chicago mix.

There's potential here, but it could easily fizzle:

This is fantastic. Love the Cmc vs Mixon thread. And especially Friction chiming in not to spoil the fun because he needs good reading material on the can.

As Melvin Gordon news pops up, the yard-per-carry bear likes to get poked.

I figured it was time we get that Gordon thread nominated! Man, as far as the YPC stat goes as to the opinion of skill or ability is concerned with the rb position ... the word redundancy comes to mind. I'll leave it like this; YPC doesn't measure what many think it measures. If by me saying that means that I come across as elitist or condescending, so be it. Sorry, don't shoot the messenger.

In my opinion, an offensive running game could be gauged by it's (the team's) ypc, but that stat isn't as much to do with rb skill, running ability, vision, or talent, as it is - a coaching staff fitting the right tool for the job as well as the direct run blocking ability of the men in the trenches.

It's an epic thread, to be sure. YPC is just another stat in a plethora of stats that can say how a player or team has done or will do in the future. But boy does it get people fired up.

True true. YPC in and of itself doesn't get me all that fired up. Usually, its the repetition of explanation that gets to me. Time and time and time again the YPC thing gets explained, yet, the conversation and dialog persists. I guess I just get a little revved up when someone says something about player X sucks or player X has this or that kind of trade value because his YPC sucks. That to me is just a drastic over simplification pertaining to ability or skill.

Some owners just want simple answers to what they feel are simple questions (but arent) and YPC provides that.

That's a pretty bad misrepresentation of what's going on in that thread.

Who said I was referring to that thread? If you choose to read more into what I wrote than is there - that is your own doing not mine. :nono:
