Seconded. Absolutely silly. Some of these RB's going to burn some people badly. Especially when some of the WR's workout.Servo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 8:40 am Allen has fallen into the 2nd Round of all the 2QB/Superflex leagues I play in, while I don't personally like Allen all that much...nor the situation he was drafted into...Blake Bortles has lasted 5 years in the NFL and won some people some league championships....maybe Allen could do the same. Worth every penny in the second round and beyond.

Re: Josh Allen
I dunno man, Blake was a 66% passer in college. Allen was a 56% passer. Christian Hackenberg might be a better comp for Allen than Bortles.
That said, I agree Allen is worth a 2nd round pick in superflex. Not hard to justify reaching for QBs there.

Im rooting for this kid. I have my 2 Qb draft Sat and need QB bad. I own 11th pick and Allen is in consideration for me.

He just went 2.02 in my 12 team Superflex.
Re: Josh Allen
Can definitely see you're invested in him via your avatar but if you're hurting for a QB, I don't know if Allen is the one I'm trying to go for. I'd rather take my chances on Lamar if it's between the two. In a 2QB league there's a good chance Mayfield, Darnold and Rosen all could be gone by 1.06/1.07
Re: Josh Allen
Matthew Stafford 57.1 % college completion percentage
Brett Favre 52.4% college completion percentage.
While Allen may never become these two his arm strength and throwing angles are much closer to the above two.
Completion percentages are important but QB's coming out are blobs of clay to be molded. Allen shows traits you can't teach. I agree with the draft slot assessment but can't get behind the Hackenberg comp. given he reads defenses like most of us would.
Allen needs to learn to reign in his cannon for an arm. His ball velocity may be the highest ever recorded. Allen's drop percentage last season was just under 8% which isn't horrible but he didn't have any NFL quality WR's to throw at last season. Allen is also very athletic for a big man. He compares to Wentz and Newton in this department.
No doubt polarizing but could end up being the steel of this draft in 3- 4 years or he could bust. I would bet on the former as he sure doesn't look like a bust on film.

Re: Josh Allen
It's a fair assessment but often times I just feel people are far too enamored by the "Big/Tall/Rocket Armed" QB that has some relatively big issues. I mean it wasn't that long ago where Paxton Lynch was having people claim he would have the highest ceiling of the 2016 crop.
Now I can't say I know how many times Lynch was selected over Goff/Wentz in 2016 but it definitely happened in my 2QB league. Fast forward Wentz/Goff put up QB1 numbers in 2017 while Lynch may not play any meaningful snaps and has to stave of Swag Kelly in Denver to still be considered a dynasty asset.
If your roster has stability or you already have some solid QBs to lean on, then sure, take a shot on Allen in the 2nd. If you're in dire need of a QB and Allen is you selection...I personally wouldn't feel like that need has been filled.
Lastly, FWIW, while I get the reason for the "Slinger" comparison to Stafford, Stafford was a far superior prospect in high school and in college. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big skeptic of Allen, however, it would be cool to see him succeed...he's just a really risky pick in my eyes and a lot of data out there says he'll have a big hill to climb.

Re: Josh Allen
Just saying,
Carson Wentz 6'5 237
Josh Allen 6'5" 223
Jarod Goff 6'4 223
Tom Brady 6'4" 225
Josh Allen was obviously highly coveted. It sure sounded like it came to Mayfield and Allen to go 1.1, We won't ever know for sure but he was obviously highly coveted as a top 7 overall pick.
I would call Allen Prototype size these days. Lynch is 6'7" His issue looks be the fact he can't read a defense or process information at the speed required to succeed at this level.
Time will tell for sure as QB's are pretty hard to judge for a few years.

Re: Josh Allen
Ya there is some homer in me lol . But honestly I'm all in on this kid. I've litterally read everything and watched every video on him. I think his issues are correctable and I love the howitzer he has attached to his arm. He was apparently also one of the smartest pre draft qb's in the film room. I love him so far.Servo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 05, 2018 6:14 amCan definitely see you're invested in him via your avatar but if you're hurting for a QB, I don't know if Allen is the one I'm trying to go for.
