Sorry if this has been brought up, but how does this rule change things?
I had thought they had instituted a similar rule a few years ago, but just never enforced it on the field. Sounds like lowering the head to punish defenders is now banned.
How, if at all, will this affect the game?
Will guys like Derrick Henry, LaGarrette Blount and the other more punishing RB's become obsolete?
Will we see the McCaffrey's and Duke Johnson's and Chris Thompson's of the world become even more valuable?

PPR leagues have already done that, or at least impacted it far more than it probably should.

I wouldn’t worry too much at this point ... the league still needs to clarify how the new rule will be enforced (for example, at its literal interpretation, QB sneaks are now a penalty). But I agree it’s something to keep an eye on.

I don't think this penalty will be flagged hardly at all except for the most egrecious cases of essentially offensive spearing
An RB will still be able to lower his shoulders so that all a linebacker sees are knees and shoulder pads and a helmet coming at him. RBs will just have to pull their neck back a bit so it isn't the absolute crown of the helmet leading. They essentially lead with the forehead rather than putting their head all the way down and it'll be a fine play every time
