There is no way NE drafts Guice. Him visiting is just due diligence.

Dion Lewis posted good fantasy numbers.. If he can I do not see why Guice cannot.

I actually think if the Pats spent a 1st round pick on Guice then that should boost his value IMO. That would tell me they absolutely love him. Not sure Guice will be a PPR value anyways so if you're expecting him to catch 40 balls I think you will be devastated. He's more Zeke (not good at receiving) than he his Gurley/Barkley.

Plot twist: they traded Cooks to draft Guice, so BB can run the ball at a 10:1 ratio, using their plethora of other backs as a change of pace - simply to shun Brady and put more fuel to the fire for the conspiracy theorists that believe in the "I made you so I can destroy you" angle.

This would obviously be capped off by benching Brady for Brian Hoyer in the super bowl.

I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

There are three main awful destinations for RB the past years in NE, MIA and WAS.

NE changes everytime (Blount, Gillislee, White, Lewis, Hill, Burkhead...), WAS has shown the door to Alf who made a brilliant work to sub him with the awful Matt Jones...Mike Shanahan spirit doesn't want to leave the town...Ok. Miami don't use their RB heavily and change them often too.

I won't be quiet with Guice at 1.02 if he ends in those places.

Guice not top 3 RB to NFL

Postby hockeyBjj » Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:54 am

Anyone as shocked as I am that neither Guice nor Chubb were the 2nd RBs off the board behind Barkley? Penny as the RB2 was a real shocker, and Michel by the pats with Guice still out there was also not expected

Us fantasy owners missed pretty hard on that Guice>Chubb/Michel tier behind Barkley

Also, next two RBs taken go to perhaps the two worst backfields to own in fantasy. Seahawks was really puzzling. Reach on an RB when you have 0 O-line and a defense that's crumbling

Michel ahead of those 2 doesn't surprise me, but Penny does. Guice and Chubb should still be early round 2 picks. Colts, Browns, Bucs all could take a RB

Really, all we know is he is not a top 3 RB to the Patriots (which, also technically isnt true as for all we know they ranked them Barkley, Michel, Guice)...but, your point is still very valid that hes apparently not in his own tier all alone after Barkley. I wouldnt sweat things too much, I still remember Mike Mayock was beside himself seeing Kamara slide last year (as he gave Kamara a first round grade)...he even (albeit jokingly) questioned his ability to grade players. I still would have a hard time passing on him at #2 right now (even without knowing his landing spot, but, there are plenty of great spots still available).

I don't think it is that surprising. Guice and Chubb are in-between the tackles running backs. The NFL favors pass catching RBs. Fantasy will favor them too. It will be interesting to see if Ronald Jones or John Kelly jump Guice or Chubb in fantasy or NFL draft.

Can I part myself in the back...Ronald Jones is the bigger NFL prospect over Guice.

Teams don't always take what they feel is the best player, but rather the best fit. It sounds like the Seahawks really wanted someone that could also catch and the Pats were likely looking for someone similar to the departed Lewis as they already had 2 down between the tackles grinders on the roster.

Guice and Chubb could lock themselves into 2 and 3 if they go to ind and TB. It's only a handful of picks from the end of 1 to early second. Just because you slept inbetween picks doesn't mean that there is a huge value gap in the NFL.

Means a little, but not a lot. It tells you how three teams felt about Guice but as long as Guice doesn't fall too far I don't think it should change the way YOU felt about him pre-draft all that much.

Barkley and Michel weren't big surprises. Penny was a little bit of a surprise for sure, but all that does for me is confirm that this is looking like a real deep class of RBs again.

Exactly. More than anything, running back is situation based more than anything. A second round pick is still a big investment on what is considered a devalued position. Guice is still my #2 if he goes in the second round
