TE rookie rankings

What are your rankings? Not as exciting as last year's class but still pretty deep.

Without giving up my rankings (not all done yet I'll admit), I see 3 maybe 4 that have potential very high ceilings. I think that landing spot for TE is very important as they are very dependent on scheme and the offensive line & system they are drafted to. Plus, historically, much patience must be granted toward TE development. Generic response yes, but, in my opinion there are at least 3 I'd love the chance to roster. Too many vultures at this time of year for me to post more than this.

for me I have Goedert in his own tier of late 1st - early 2nd value.
Tier 2 - mid 2nd types - Andrews, Hurst + Gesicki , probably in that order but happy with any of them.
Tier 3 - Kalen Ballage(it's ok, you don't have to agree with this), Chris Herndon and Ian Thomas might be targets in the 4th round

no real interest in Fumigalli and I see Jaylen Samuels as a RB.

Those are the only ones I have opinions on as of now. There won't be 3 1st round picks but I don't think this class is getting enough love right now.

I will be waiting until the 3rd in my drafts if I take any at all. I mean I would expect a 2nd will still land you Delanie Walker or better so why waste time rostering the rookie.

I do like some of these guys quite a bit but too many flame out and aren't really high value assets in most of my leagues.

Great advice. I've drafted two TEs in my history. I grabbed Kyle Rudolph (3rd round) and Kittle (4th round). It typically takes too long for them to master the position and their value is lower after year 1 for 75%+ of them. Trading for TE has consistently been the best method I've witnessed, especially in leagues which are TE premium leagues.

I traded for Eifert after his rookie year (only gave up Rashad Jennings) and I grabbed Graham shortly after he left N.O.

I think most people that draft a tight end realize that they aren’t going to have an immediate impact. So I’m not sure that there will be much of a discount on this year‘s crop of tight ends come next year. Unless someone Gets foolish and pays a first round this year. Just look at the tight ends from last year... Howard is probably the only one that would be somewhat discounted but I would think you’d still have to pay around the 2.1 to get him.

All of this year’s crop Will likely be in the second round and I just don’t see the value that an owner would have to sell for a third next year. Most will just wait and hope that they break out.

I have seen this in other threads as well, but if I draft a TE this year I am not looking to sell next year unless there is some crazy scenario. I would go into thinking I wouldn't give up for a few years unless there seems to be no progress at all.
