How do you build depth?

I use the same approach as Fezzik, but I try to get a future pick in every trade I make, even if it's a late pick. In our league people don't seem to value the picks a year or two down the road, so it's not hard to get them. Eventually it's time for those picks, and I always seem to have a bunch of extras. And having extra picks is good for moving up when you want to, or packaging 2-3 picks for one better pick.
