Salary Cap League - Need Help

Postby dabearsfan » Sat Apr 07, 2018 6:48 pm

I am looking to start a salary cap league and was hoping I could get some advice from this group. I am looking for suggestions on best format and lessons learned. If any of you have a favorite league you're in and wouldn't mind sending a link to the bylaws it would save me the time of having to create everything from scratch. Much appreciated.

I highly recommend an auction draft for the initial draft.

WR: G. Davis, I. Hodgins, D. Hopkins, C. Kupp, K. Raymond, A. St Brown, A. Thielen, N. Westbrook-Ikhine
TE: M. Andrews, G. Everett, D. Knox, D. Schultz, D. Waller
TAXI:T. Chandler, E. Dotson, J. McLaughlin, D. Ridder

Team Two:
0-2QB, 8-10 FLEX 12 Team
QB: J. Fields, W. Levis, M. Stafford, T. Taylor
RB: T. Allgeier, S. Barkley, T. Bigsby, T. Etienne, Z. Evans, R. Mostert, I. Pacheco, M. Sanders
WR: B. Cooks, G. Davis, V. Jefferson, T. McLaurin, J. Meyers, D.J. Moore, D. Parker, B. Powell, J. Reynolds, L. Shenault, N. Westbrook-Ikhine

Here is a thread from the Salary Cap forum where owners shared some of their bylaws from those types of leagues.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Make sure you have some way to encourage expiring contracts in year 2 and 3. If everyone loads up on the top talent in year 1 and holds them for 4+ years, you'll experience a serious inflation problem in years 2 - 4 because there will be money to spend and no one to spend it on. This will cause players like AJG to go for 250% of reasonable salary and it just gets flat out annoying.
