Ran a 4.48 at private workout ... a little disappointing IMO.

From USC tweet:
With a healthy hamstring, USC RB @rojo posted a 4.48 40-yard dash in front of NFL scouts. #USCtotheNFL

 very disappointing... Game speed says otherwise same with michel who I had pegged a hair slower than Jones... Very odd with these two speedsters 40 times.. I was expecting low 4.4s for Rojo and mid 4.4s for Michel.

I think similarly to Cook, we should be judging game speed not combine measurables, and these two guys look like the fastest players on the field with the ball in their hands.

I think you have to factor in how limited he would have been during training since the injury though. Glute/hamstrings play a major part in any power/speed/force production work.

Just because an athlete can go out and do something soon after an injury doesn’t mean it’s the athletes personal best, but who knows.

Eh, he was behind Barkley, Guice, Michel, Chubb anyways. Hopefully this just means Sutton or maybe even Penny goes before him in the draft and I can still get him at 6. I'm actually worried at the 6 spot that picks 1-5 will all be RBs, and I feel I could use 1 for my team 1

We'll see what happens in the draft but for right now Penny is pretty clearly ahead of Jones for me.

I think you could make a strong case for Royce Freeman ahead of Jones at this point in time.

he said he was only about 85%. I bet he runs a 4.42 when 100%

It's important to note that the 4.48 was electronically timed, not hand timed. USC apparently officially records the times and they were the ones who reported it:

https://twitter.com/USC_Athletics/statu ... 603876352

Beat writer re-affirms this was electronically timed:

https://twitter.com/joeyrkaufman/status ... 9337705472

He also said the hamstring is only about 85%, and he weighed in at 208. Overall I'd say it was a pretty good day for RoJo. Just don't tell anyone else that the 40 was electronically timed so we can keep that info on the DL

4.48 is plenty fast especially when you watch his tape.. people look at numbers to much, the bigger number for me was the weigh in, 208 is a solid number

Tape can be deceiving. A 4.48 for a guy his size is extremely underwhelming for a someone who's game is supposedly predicated on speed.

I really doubt he would run if he wasn't 100 percent. Pulling your hammy twice before the draft would not help your stock. Seems more likely he was using that to leverage a perceived speed. I think that this is a bit disappointing. The 208 is good, more like Dalvin Cook size/speed a this time/weight. Did he do any agility drills?

There's been some speculation that 205 is an inflated number due to trying to put on some size (water weight) and that attributed to the pulling of the hamstring. Obviously I wasn't there so I don't know. From what I've seen most people had him closer to 190ish.

Discussing whether the guy plays in the 190's or at 208 is not splitting hairs. It's a big deal on how you evaluate his film.

Is there any proof of 190 playing weight or is that just speculation? Honest question. Also if he does play at 190 and ran a 40 yard dash at 4.48 with minimal prep time due to injury weighing 15 pounds heavier it's safe to say he plays a lot faster.

I like rojo but don't think he's a 3 down back.
