They're not cutting Dez... They want to win a superbowl.

zero chance they cut Dez. They might try to get rid of Terrance Williams but his contract is somewhat prohibitive.

Yeah this is more a door closing for Williams, Beasley or Butler - I assume Noah Brown & Ryan Switzer are likely safe due to rookie contracts.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I think if anything, they might use this as leverage to restructure Dez contract. I’ve said all along that I don’t think that they cut Dez, if anything this could mean they don’t re-sign Beasley after 2018, Butler is unrestricted so he wasn’t coming back anyway.

Very excited that it did come down this way. Dallas really did need to add a decent WR opposite Dez and they finally got it done. Agreed they'll try to get Dez to restructure so stay tuned. But this has to be considered good news for the Cowboys' passing game.
14 Team, No-PPR, 20 Man Roster, TD Heavy, TD = 6, FG = 3, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, D
QB: L. Jackson, B. Purdy, T. Lance
RB: J. Mixon, N. Chubb, A. Dillon, J. Cook, K. Mitchell, J. McLaughlin, Z. Evans
WR: J. Chase, C. Godwin, D. Johnson, J. Reed, C. Tillman
TE: TJ Hockenson, D. Njoku, B. Jordan

14 Team, .5 PPR, 18 Man Roster, Rush/Rec TD = 6, Pass TD = 4, FG = 3, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, D
QB: L. Jackson, T. Tagovailoa
RB: B. Robinson, K. Walker, R. Stevenson, K. Herbertl
WR: C. Olave, T. Higgins, B. Aiyuk, N. Collins, Z. Flowers, M. Mims
TE: K. Pitts, D. Njoku

I was already sniffing around seeing what owners wanted for Hurns and he’s actually a FA in a couple of my leagues. Do you guys think he’s worth a mid 2019 2nd, more or less?

No way I would give a 2nd for him.

If dez was a fantasy wr3 in this offense, what exactly is the upside for hurns?

That logic is so flawed to me, however I would have to have a pretty thin WR core to spend a mid-2nd on Hurns.

The logic that is flawed to me is how a mediocre wr who was barely on the fantasy radar is somehow now a desired asset because he moved to the #2 role on a below average passing offense on one of the few teams with lower passing volume than the one he just left.

The bad situation he left has at least given us multiple fantasy wr1/wr2 seasons over the last 3 years, yet now we're supposed to be excited because he signed a short, relatively low paid deal somewhere where he will be at best the #2 option on a team that hasn't even given us a fantasy wr2 in the last 3 years?

I think he has another year in Dallas left just solely on the fact they still need WR help. I think he'll see 100 targets or so.

They could cut Beasley as a post-June 1st casualty and save a few million. He played like garbage last year, so would make the most sense to move on from. That's been a fairly high volume role at times, so could be good news for Hurns. Cutting Williams saves nothing, so unless they want to pay him to sit on the bench, he's probably reasonably secure. Could run Hurns & Dez in two wide and shift Hurns over to the slot in three wide.

Hurns was barely the fourth receiver on Jacksonville but now people think he's gonna beat out Dez as the #1? Like what?

Hurns is the highest scoring Dallas WR in 2018.

I wouldn’t be shocked. He’s definitely more talented than Williams or Beasley, imo, and those two were horrible last season. Hurns problem has been staying healthy the last two seasons.
