Gore could def form a committee with Drake and I also don't think this precludes Miami from drafting a guy either. Not sure it's entirely clear what the signing means other than we know Gore wants to retire in Miami. Guy can still play.

This is why Drake is a sell. While this is all true, signing Gore does not preclude Miami from drafting a RB, but it seems as though people think that it does.
but here lies the issue...I don't think you will get fair value for Drake.

Wow I almost wrote the same exact thing as somebody else including the word "preclude". Weird.

Something to take note... Gore is only ~1250 yards from passing Barry Sanders as 3rd on the all time rushing list.

I would think that Gase & Co let him know that he's not just gonna be sitting around riding the pine w/ that in reach. I doubt he'll pass Sanders this year, but possibly next year if he's still able to perform

I agree with this. Signing Gore is a band aid move- you know you need RB help, and bringing in Gore doesn't force you to overdraft one this April. Without him, they'd be desperate and could easily reach.

Also, Gore and Drake are good complements- Drake doesn't need volume to have an impact, while Gore can handle the tackle work.

As soon as I saw this news, I looked at the 2019 FA RB list- http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/ ... ning-back/. David Johnson and Mark Ingram both FAs next offseason.
