Whom if anyone Trades Up to Get Saquon ???

Postby cazzie33 » Mon Mar 19, 2018 10:55 pm

Could the Redskins  Might be too far of a drop for the top teams to still get a difference maker. But the team needs a better 2down RB to team with C. Thompson.

Would Chuckie make a big splash like that ? Not likely with Beast Mode and the newly signed Muscle Hamster.

Miami ??? Green Bay ??? ...does either have enough for Giants or Brownies to drop down.

Can Tampa just stay pat and take the chance for Saquon to fall in their lap ?

If Green Bay does anything, it's usually trading their early round picks for more later round picks.

That's the Ted Thompson playbook. He's no longer there so anything could happen. That said I doubt they trade up to grab Barkley. Williams/Jones showed enough last year to head into the year with. Maybe they grab a 3rd/4th round RB altho they also have Mays from last year & Ty will get some carries too. GB prolly looking oline, CB, or maybe S in the first.

My guess is the 1st 4 picks are QBs (with 4 probably being Buffalo). NYG didn't turn down that overpay from the Jets to take a RB. Chubb, Nelson, Barkley will probably make up 5-7. I would be pretty surprised by a trade up for Barkley. Teams picking in the teens are going to see the rest of the deep RB class and decide it is not worth an extra 1st or more to upgrade from a Guice or Chubb to Barkley.

No one most likely but... My guess is that Clev goes QB then NYG go O LINE then Jets go QB. Clev. Could take him at 4 if they dont trade out to Buffalo so Buff can get a QB which is what will happen. If this does happens the Broncos could take him at 5 but wont because Miami trades up with them to get the remaining 1st round QB, the Colts could take him at 6 which would be the greatest draft trade down ever but Bradley Chubb makes more sense here for Indy. That leaves the Tampa Bay Bucs getting him at 6 and all hell breaks loose in FF.

My suspicion is that he goes to Denver at 5. Draft looks like-
1. Cleveland: Darnold
2. Giants: Rosen
3. Jets: Mayfield
4. Bills: Allen
5. Broncos: Barkley
6. Colts: Nelson
7. Bucs: Chubb

For people saying that RBs rarely go top 5 or even top 10 in a draft, last two years both Zeke and Fournette went within the top five.

I'm very curious if that's simply a back to back outlier on the historical, or a new trend that indeed stud muffin RBs are worth an elite level 1st round pick each year
Team 1- 10 team ppr, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flx, 1D, 1K

If someone trades up to get him, it's probably going to be if he falls to pick 7 or later.

If all this happens it will not only be FF that all hell breaks loose for. That would just be an overload of excitement all around. The last couple years things are getting more and more exciting with all the trades, then free agency followed by the draft.

I think Barkley would go at least that high in the last 2 drafts, but this year you have better QB prospects, and QB needy teams positioned at the top. That is the primary difference. Even if Barkley is a HOF RB, getting a borderline pro-bowl QB still probably does more for a franchise than the HOF RB.

I am thinking similar, but my guess is Denver would take Nelson, Colts, Chuibb, and Bucs Barkley. TB would have to get blown away to NOT take one of those 3 if they are available.

I'd be shocked if Denver doesn't go QB here. Elway can't afford it.

1 - Darnold
2 - Rosen
3 - Allen
4 - Chubb
5 - Mayfield
6 - Barkley
7 - Nelson

But knowing Elway - he'll draft the wrong QB.
He hasn't exactly been good at acquiring QBs.. he lucked into Manning and everyone thinks he is some great GM..

To the topic - I doubt anyone trades up for Barkley.

I think things are a lot more in flux than we tend to assume. No one knows who the Browns will pick at 1.01. It will almost certainly be one of the top 3 QBs, but other NFL teams won't know until the 1.01 selection is announced. At that point, things will get really interesting. If the Browns throw a curveball (e.g. picking Josh Allen), all hell may break loose.

This is true. I think he should take the chance though. Denver (like the Giants) doesn't strike me as a team that will be back at the #4 pick anytime soon. And with next year's class not considered strong on QB's, this may be your best shot.
