Yeah I mean, I am enjoying this analysis, it's interesting even if it isn't relevant from a dynasty/fantasy perspective. It's why I come here so often, to just talk football. But man... only on DLF can the hot topic of the week be about Cordarrelle freaking Patterson lmao
Haha, agreed. I mean, Jeremy Hill has like 5 active threads going. No joke.

I have to admit one of my minor pet peeves that I do my best to shrug off - is duplicate threads on the same player in the same forum. I think we all understand if there wasnt one on the main page or Page 2-3 but at least look and see if there is one already on the first page! :wall:

I cared enough to read the whole post. I'm a Raiders fan but I didnt get to see many games this year (and I'm still fuming from how they lost to Philly) but I cannot say as to how they really used him. Maybe Phaded can.

I suppose you could always put this up as a tweet and send it to a Patriots reporter and see what you get back?

The guys is a special teams player and nothing more. Unless you’re in a league where return yards matter or there are more than 400 roster spots CPatt shouldn’t be on your roster.

Edelman 4 game suspension + Patterson lock to make roster = hype train starting up?

If it isn't already obvious, Patterson was only acquired for his special-teams value.

He's been more useful than your boy Moncrief... ;)
Actually, Moncrief has been a viable fantasy WR3 for a few stretches because his weekly TD rate was weirdly consistent.

Patterson's never been startable outside return-yardage leagues.

grooner wrote: Mon Mar 19, 2018 10:46 am I don't think this move will bring any fantasy relevance to CP. In return yardage leagues I doubt he will be much better/worse than his previous years, so if he was a wr3/4, he should remain around the same.

I feel like the Patriots, among the few teams who place a great emphasis on special teams. Another team who always seems to have good special teams are the Eagles. I personally think that teams don't value special teams enough, or maybe it is just the general public who doesn't place enough emphasis on them..

Ah...Valhalla and Grooner are just trying to up their post count. 8-)

Seriously, my coach always said the game has three phases (offense, defense, and special teams). Win two of them and you win the game.

Except when you are the Chargers and your special teams is so bad that it loses the games for you even when you win the other two phases.

Bumpity bump.
The crazy athlete is lighting it up daily (in shorts). Who’s got the legs to help propel a hype train into motion? Maybe Bill has some magic stored away...

Or maybe the wet string of fireworks that Patterson is has been drying out...?

Here you go - I will get it started for you.
;)

"Patterson made one of the most impressive catches of camp on Day 1 with Stephon Gilmore on his hip. Despite the tight coverage deep down the field, Patterson was able to make a twisting one-handed grab of a Tom Brady pass."

"On Sunday, Brady and Patterson connected again -- this time on a back-shoulder throw through tight coverage in a one-on-one period. Eric Rowe actually deflected the pass, but Patterson used his size and good concentration to haul it in."

"Tremendous one-handed catch by Cordy Patterson in red zone work. Throw from Brady."

"Patterson is obviously an explosive guy...He’s a deep threat. He’s dangerous with the ball in his hands, whether you hand it to him or throw it to him on a short pass. He’s a dangerous catch-and-run guy, he’s also a vertical guy … He’s a strong player, kind of like Peterson – big, strong, hard to tackle, good speed, at a different position." - Belichick

"Patterson, he plays in the backfield, he plays in the receiver positions. Call him whatever you want, he’s another explosive player." - Belichick

"He was just born to be a football player." - Brady

"...this guy is on planet Pluto. He's beyond the Pro Bowl and Hall of Fame. He's the only guy that dominated a position so far beyond anyone else." - Young

"Whatever you paid to see...it wasn’t enough. You knew that every night out there you were gonna get the greatest concert of your life." - Wilbon

"Nah I wasn't surpr...I knew I had enough juice in me to get into the endzone. :D " - Patterson

With Matthews and Mitchell out of the picture, things are looking up for Patterson - who according to this article is working hard on several things, including getting faster.
