The Minnesota RB depth chart is like the island of misfit toys. You have combine warrior Latavius Murray who dropped in the draft due to injury concerns. Has had no more injuries than other RBs, but had to settle for a one year deal. You have combine warrior Bishop Sankey who seemed to perform when called upon but was hated by Whisenhunt for some reason and hasn't been able to get much of a shot anywhere else. You have combine warrior Jerrick McKinnon, the converted QB, who looked elite as a backup, but struggled when asked to do more. Now you have the elite college RB who flopped in the combine and dropped a round because of it. Maybe they'll add Christine Michael and complete the set...

I can't see McKinnon having any usable fantasy value this year. I believe he's a FA after this season though, so he could be a player to target as a throw-player in trades you make towards the end of the season if you believe in his ability.

I still believe in Mckinnon's talent and I think he's a hold in Dynasty until we see what happens to him in free agency next year.

This is where I'm at. I'm a big McKinnon fan, and am just praying he ends up somewhere he can be relevant next year, or maybe even he can get traded before then. But I'm willing to just eat the loss if it doesn't happen rather than sell him for peanut shells or drop him outright. It may never happen, but if he does breakout it is gonna be on my roster gosh darn it!

Athletic god, hasn't put up the stats that you would assume go with his athletic gifts (so far in his short career)
Does he finally have the opportunity and ability to put up big numbers? This is a contract year for him, his time to shine for a big pay day next year?

I'll put it this way. I'm very happy I held onto him in a very deep league where I own him. I can imagine a scenario where he's a spot start for me once or twice. But yeah, long term he's no more than Gio Bernard at best.

Between Crow shitting the bed, Monty getting hurt and Mixon struggling to find his footing, I need all the help I can get at RB. I have more FAAB than anyone in my league and I just bid a dollar more than the second-highest balance. I already added him to my sig. I know his value beyond this year is questionable at best, but I can’t afford to be complacent. Thanks to some fortunate matchups, I’m sitting in 1st place at 9-1, despite only being 4th in total points. Still kicking myself for not bidding enough on Aaron Jones last week, so it’s not happening again.

Don't get too excited about one long run against CHI's 4th and 5th linebacker. That said, McKinnon will be useful to some degree the rest of the year. We're always scrambling for RB production this time of year with bye weeks and with injuries and underperformers mounting up. Guys like McKinnon can help get you through tough times, and we've seen that there is some upside there. Selling quickly if I'm deep at RB or rebuilding, but would be happy to have him on my roster if I'm competing.

McKinnon looked good against Chicago. However, I still don't see the upside as a lead back and some have touted him. He's definitely a capable COP back though.

We have NOT seen this movie before...unless you want to talk in extreme generalizations like "McKinnon got an opportunity, and didn't excel, so he won't with this opportunity." That's ignoring circumstances, which is pretty crucial to success in the NFL, especially at RB.
