Haha except it's not all of the sudden. I've been quite open since January (that's pre-combine) about my man crush on DJ Moore

Lol, the new hype took over for most, but as of now, he's slotting in where he needs to be for me. I like him, but not as much as most I guess. Just like how people say michel was a late first/early 2nd that jumped into the first half of the 1st round, now DJ has suddenly done that, except michel did his off actual football where dj did his in a track meet. Guy wasn't even on draft radars pre combine. Nobody would of even had him in top 4 a few months ago and people can say they did, but Id love some proof of that.
he was to the best analysts... Your acting like he only has good athleticism, when he is by far the most dominant receiver in the class and did it at the earliest age of all the other receivers. I had him at 3 before the combine but now he is firmly in the #1 spot.
[/quote]
Granted, he enjoyed the loins share of WR production at Maryland and really killed it at the combine, but for a speedster he doesn't really get much separation from collegiate defenders. He'll really need to improve his route running abilities if he is to succeed at the NFL level. I personally have him outside of my top 12 overall.

I'm going with the assumption that not all great athletes can play football and that great football players are not all top of the line athletes. This is my list of the most likely to succeed at the next level based mostly on film study.

1) Saquan Barkley
2) Rashaad Penny
3) Nick Chubb
4) James Washington
5) Calvin Ridley
6) Ronald Jones
7) Kalen Ballage
8) Derrius Guice
9) Equanimeous St. Brown
10) John Kelly
11) Courtland Sutton
12) Anthony Miller

I respect your list! So what is your overall take on Michel? Not enough versatility? Or is he TOO much of a jack-of-all-trades?

I don't really have any knocks on Michel's game, it's more a matter of liking others more. I have him ranked just outside the top 12. He has decent hands out of the backfield, hits the open holes, and takes great angles in the open field. I'd like to see run with more strength, he doesn't break a lot of arm tackles. He seems to have to slow down to make extreme cuts, thou he mostly just changes his angle in the open field. The way I see it, Sony Michel is a lightweight north/south runner with good hands that may struggle to perform above a "JAG" level in the NFL. But for what it's worth, I was totally underwhelmed with Le'Veon Bell's game tape and thought he was a replacement level talent drafted into a great situation. So definitely take this with a grain of salt.

^ to be fair I don't recall bell being a super hyped prospect like we have had recently like gurely, Fournette, Chubb pre injury, barkely, all allegedly generational talents coming out within a 4 year span, I think as a prospect he fits in with Zeke pre draft, Mixon, cook, McCaffrey, Chubb post injury, michel, Ronald Jones.

From what I recall bell was likened to Blount, until he cut a bunch of weight

Sadly, it seems like this is about how the NFL actually goes. The players you think would be studs end up disappointing while the ones you think are mediocre end up with longer careers and more success (not always). It will certainly be interesting to look back on this in a year or two....

Ballage and Guice are two peas in a pod; both big, strong runners with good game speed. I had them similarly ranked but gave the edge to Ballage due to his explosion through the hole and open field cutting abilities.

If Ballage has more "explosion through the hole" then how is his yards per carry 4.3 while Guice had 7.6 in 2016? Ballage has never even had 700 rushing yards in a season...

Guice has better vision, tackle breaking and running instincts I would guess
