Each week in the playoffs, your total weekly points are comprised of 2 components:

1) Your score for that week
2) Your average points-per-game from the regular season

So the teams that did good in the regular season would have a nice bonus kicker that follows them through their playoff runs, but they are still vulnerable to the unexpected chaos of playoff time.

Thoughts?
I actually really like this idea a lot. It seems way less arbitrary than just adding XX points to the “home” team’s score. I’m pretty much in favor of any idea that places more significance on the regular season. I’ve actually been talking to my friend about doing a startup, and I’m definitely going to suggest this, in addition to running the numbers on my current league to see if things would’ve shaken out any differently in the postseason. Great idea. Thanks for sharing!

exactly^^^
ridiculous is off the table try explaining fantasy football to someone that doesn't play or isn't a football fan !
biggest problem I see is if it is for OP's sig league is 6 playoff teams in a 10 team league . I am in several leagues and commish 2 with a 3rd starting right after the combine on monday all the leagues but 1 have only 6 playoff teams for 16 team leagues .
The 1 league has 8 playoff teams so in all the years except one in the 8 team league no 6-7 messes never are in the playoffs . There was one exception where a 6-7 sneaked into the playoffs and lost in the title game .
In a 10 team league 4 is the limit and I could see 2 divisions for 14 weeks and then a 2 week title contest in weeks 15 -16 for the championship even.

I would add that high seed should be the tiebreaker as someone mentioned -in the unlikely event of a tie

I'm in two leagues with homefield advantage and like it being that they are larger format leagues (one is 32 team, double copy and the other is 18 team). Both now decrease in advantage from 10 to 0 as the playoff weeks go on.

Not quite sure about HFA in fantasy but everyone has their rules they love/hate. Have never played in a league yet with that.

I'm in a league that tries to replicate the NFL as close as possible and we do reseed the playoffs like the NFL once the wildcard games are completed.

My league used to just do two points, it was standard scoring. So 2 points would be around 2% of a total score.
12 team, 1PPR: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex, Flex
QB: Brees, Smith, Bortles,
RB: Zeke, Freeman, Buck Allen, Duke, Burkehead, D. Lewis, A. Peterson, C. Grant, Blount
WR: Hilton, Thielen, G. Tate, Edelman, Fuller, Cobb, R. Matthews, C. Meredith, Ginn, Amendola, Pryor, Hurns, J. Matthews
TE: Kittle, Eifert, Brate, McDonald, J. James
IR: K. Dixon, Jermey Hill

2019 Picks: 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th
2020 Picks: 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 5th

Yes. In two league, one of which i comish.

Nice way to reward regular season performances, making the PO less of a random lottery unrelated to anything that happenned all season, but still letting enough chances for a lot of teams to compet.

it's a nice concept.
1. 14-teamer, .5 PPR, 2 Flex, 16 keepers
QB :Palmer, Bridgewater, RG3
RB : Gurley, Hyde, Yeldon, McKinnon
WR: Dez, Jeffery, Evans, Watkins, Marshall, Diggs, Sharpe
TE : Eifert, ASJ,
IDP : Mosley, Olegtree, Collins &Stuff

2. 12-teamer, standard, 6 PTD, full dynasty
QB: Rodgers, Bortles, Petty
RB : McCoy, Forsett, Spiller, Lewis, KRob, Ridley, Haynes
WR : Julio, AJ Green, Tate, Latimer, Lee
TE : Gronk , Hill, Chandler

used it once and the way it was set up was that in first two rounds the higher seed got the difference in the two teams average points for the season (#1 seed scored say 230 per week on average and #4 seed scored 222 per week avr. then the #1 seed would start with a 8 point lead) nothing for the championship tho, and if the higher seed somehow had lower average points then it started the game at 0-0.

i thought it was kinda neat but also didnt like making the scoring different for only a few teams for 2 weeks at the most crucial time, the whole season i based on lucky breaks and fluctuation so why change that come playoff time? any given sunday right??

1) The highest-playing seed gets to pick his opponent (in some leagues, you cannot pick the #2 seed as your opponent).
2) The higher seed gets the tie-breaker.
Just stumbled across this thread, some good ideas here.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

In my 8 man $1100 redraft league division winner gets 3 points homefield plus one point for every win more division winner has over opponent..
Funny thing is in 23 years the homefield has never came into play ..
No homefield advange in The Bowl only in week 15.
In my dynasty league we don’t use this system .
Standard 10 man
QB Rogers - Big Ben- Jackson-
RB Gurley- Bell- Mixon - Conner- M Brown - Burkhead, Warren, Ballage
WR OBJ , Julio- AJG- Kupp- Sanders- John Brown- Allison- MVS- Hogan - T Williams- Humphries
TE- Ertz - Reed-
