Definitely surprising...this will not only damper the Shaneen hype, but also the upside of Burton.

Very disappointed as a Shaheen owner.

Disappointing as a Shaheen and Burton owner. Both are devalued.

Shaheen was a Pace/Fox pick, so I wonder if Nagy/Helfrich were the driving force behind Burton.

I don't think Chicago will turn into LA in regards to 30PPG but their offense appears to be trending the right direction. Now it would be awesome if they drafted Nelson from Notre Dame.

I just offered Shaheen for Tyrell Williams in a TE premium league. I don’t want any part of what looks to be a crowded group of receivers with Trubisky at the helm.

If you drafted or traded for Shaheen thinking the odds were very good he was going to be the starter for Chicago in the short term and be fantasy relevant...you are doing it wrong.

Shaheen is a Joh Fox pick, 275 pounds and slow. Better blocker than catcher. Gronk is 265 and he seems to limber down the field at times. Maybe he can't separate.

If the new staff is smart, they will line Burton up like Pederson did, many times in the slot. I can see then using him like the Giants use Engram. The guy was just paid to be part of the game plan and I am not losing faith. I'm from Philly, this kid can play.
In too many leagues to list players. Check out my Dynasty Deep Dive!

I’m an Eagles fan as well, so I’ll always love Burton for the “Philly Special” alone. But I don’t like the spot, was really hoping for Texans, Saints, or Baltimore. He’s a sell for me now if his price is still relatively high. I sold him in the two leagues I owened him, once for ASJ and 19 2nd, and then for Gerald Everett, 2.11, 3.06

Shaheen caught 12 of 12 catch-able targets with a 2.50 yard target separation (small sample size so the number is skewed obviously)(Gronks is 0.93). As with TampaBay, I think this is more to do with surrounding a struggling young QB with "talent" and doesn't really have anything to do with Shaheen (except the fact that he's clearly still learning and improving and not a finished product yet).

maybe burton will be twice as good as the bears last free agent TE since they gave him twice the $$ , I would be looking to buy shaheen cheap from panicked owners as a backup TE especially for a rebuilding team / do include the fluff pieces about how great burton is with your offer . A lot easier for guys to make some plays when no one knows who they are but NFL defenses can thwart mediocre guys if they try to do so !

You'll be holding.
Wrong. :D
I've yet to receive an offer for Burton but he's rapidly climbing TE rankings. I would think a late 1st is about the asking price.

The thing I liked seeing was how comfortable Burton looked everywhere they put him on the field. His routes and hands looked great to me. It’s one thing to be used like a certain TE but another to have the physical tools to be good at it. Not saying he is the next Kelce but I am definitely encouraged with how he looked.
