What QB will the Patriots take in 2018

Postby ArrylT » Sun Feb 25, 2018 11:48 am

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... assessment

According to Bucky Brooks, it looks as though the Patriots (for the past decade) have taken a QB in the 2nd or 3rd every couple of years, the last being 2016. As such, and based on the criteria mentioned in the article, which 2018 QB do you think they could take in the late 2nd or late 3rd?

Personally, while I dislike the Patriots, I think Mike White would be a good fit.

That would be awesome - especially if they sniped another team in the process!

I think Luke Falk makes sense. He’s a very accurate passer but needs to develop a bit and add on some pounds. I could see him going at the end of round 2.

falk call is a solid one mike white as well - I think none of the top 6 would be in the patriots sites as they all go top 50 if you want to include rudolph as the top 6 qb - I see him as miles behind the top 5 although I have seen tons of mocks with rudolph in the 1st /top of the 2nd . I could see the pats take white /falk/ lauletta in the end of the 2nd or the 3rd . pats do have 41 or 43 from niners so if any of the top 6 besides jackson/rudolph slips I suppose they could take one but jackson does not seem like a belichick type qb and rudolph seems like a flea market version of drew bledsoe doubt BB watches that movie again.

I've seen a few of my fantasy writers I follow mention Falk, and I think it makes sense

1) He's not ready yet, which is perfectly ok since they have Brady for a year or two. Not ready yet also means we haven't seen his best

2) He lacks in arm strength but has very good accuracy- Patriots I feel would value that more than a gunslinger

3) Even in college, he was a little Peyton Manning esque is his line audibles. The play the coach called was just a suggestion. Pats would definitely value those smarts

4) College walk on at a small school just feels like another case of Pats taking a guy no one else wanted and making him a top 10-15 starting player at his position
