Best player you dropped

When I was relatively new / impatient..

OBJ.

I "win".

I wasn't in the league at the time, but OBJ was dropped his rookie season when he was hurt, sat on waivers for 4! weeks, and then finally someone picked him up

That someone went on the win the championship 4 years in a row and this last year just finally lost

Commissioner created a very good taxi squad system that off season so that rookies you drafted have 2 years to develop before they have to take up a roster spot

If I remember correctly, I also had James Jones and thought he'd be the better investment in Green Bay's WR corps at the time.

this is a great reminder that sometimes guys take 3-4 years to hit.

Thielen, Funchess, Kenyan Drake, Aaron Jones, Jack Doyle, Robert Woods, Jaguars Defense before the season started bc I needed the spot for a nobody running back

This was basically for both teams below. Team one I kept the first two but dropped the Jags and Drake in that one.

I dropped Gronk. Drafted Hernandez, then Gronk was there in the 5th round of that rookie draft. I wasn't planning on keeping four rookies, much less five.

I also dropped Jordy after a couple seasons when Green Bay drafted Cobb. Also Davante Adams. Still think Adams is overrated, but could've traded him.

On the flip side, I added free agent Antonio Brown.

25 man rosters. And neither player had gone white hot yet. Whats worse is my league pretty much rarely trades.

I really didn't cough up anyone this season that I went on to regret losing. Tyler Boyd had a few moments after I sent him packing but that's about it. I played things much closer to the vest this season. 2016 was my first dynasty team and I dropped Thielen after picking him up for nothing. He didn't do anything the first week I had him and I thought I could find someone better. Ugh. I hung on to Algohor for 2016 but let him go at years end and it looks like I may regret that.

The flip side to this coin is 'who have I hung on to for too long?'. Rawls and Kelvin Benjamin. I got decent offers for both early this past season and passed on trades.

I didnt spend any picks on him. This was my home league start up and he was undrafted. I dropped him after reading Harmons reception perception.

I dropped Funchess for Thielen in two of my leagues, so while I lucked out I still feel stupid, as I had about a million other roster cloggers on both.

Also dropped Lewis in more than one league, which means he'll probably continue to defy the odds and be the pats RB1 for years to come.

i wouldn't be so sure of that. the pats are notoriously known for not paying their RB's, and outside of Bell not working out a deal, will lead the FA class at RB. He'll command some serious dough, and I just don't see the Pats paying that after acquiring Gills and Burkhead. I actually thought they wouldn't keep James White around for the cap hit 2.5 mil and traded him for a second rounder. If they move Lewis, add that to a list. But then again... it's been what like 15 years since the Pats relied on one back? I'd almost rather have none of those guys than have to deal with Belichik's anti-fantasy type of RB rotations.

I was able to get JuJu off the wire this year as well. The guy in my league drafted him later than the 2nd, but still.

Diggs - Drafted with my last pick in 2015 startup, no one knew who he was, I did it jokingly as a UMD alumni. Dropped him for a streaming defense.
Josh Gordon - Drafted him in 6th round 2016 in FA/Rookie draft, also jokingly. Dropped him for a defense soon thereafter.
Alex Collins - Drafted him in the 4th round rookie drafted, dropped him after he was moved to 4th on depth chart
