Laquon Treadwell with another team?
Rumors and reports circulating that the Vikings might be shopping Treadwell for picks. Have we given up on him? Will a change of scenery be good for him... he has no where to go but up, right? There's the whole 3 year rule for WRs and 2018 will be his third year. Have we seen enough to know that he's not very good and this will be a sell opportunity if a trade happens?

I've heard the same thing about Doctson, although I don't know how accurate the rumors are. I think both players could benefit from a change of scenery. I was always the lowest on Treadwell but I never thought he was terrible.

Re: Laquon Treadwell with another team?
He’s 6 months younger than Calvin Ridley and 4 months older than Cortland Sutton, so it’s hard to say that the book is written. Having said that, is there’s almost no precedent for a WR having a fantasy relevant career after this bad of a start to their career. Stevie Johnson is really the only comparable (and he was injured his second year), although Miles Austin is close.

Re: Laquon Treadwell with another team?
This is how I feel about him. Data says this bad of a start means sell. But he's younger than rookies and he has 2 years of NFL experience under his belt. Maybe he just needs to find a QB that is okay throwing to him even though he is not open. (Kinda like the whole narrative that Dak doesn't like to throw to covered guys and that's what Dez is not a good fit for Dak.) I can see Treadwell doing well with a guy like Rivers or Winston who just throws the ball and trust his guy that he can catch it even if he's covered.OhCruelestRanter wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:49 pm He’s 6 months younger than Calvin Ridley and 4 months older than Cortland Sutton, so it’s hard to say that the book is written. Re: Laquon Treadwell with another team?
Wow this is surprising about Doctson. Hadn't heard that. Might be a Doctson homer, but there's no comparison between Doctson & Treadwell. Sure Doctson's disappointed this year (really his rookie year with 1st year injury), but it wasn't too bad for a rookie year if you view it that way. Whereas Treadwell just seems to really be off. Something's not clicking with that cat.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:36 pm I've heard the same thing about Doctson, although I don't know how accurate the rumors are. 2018 will be the truth for both players, but my $ is on Doctson taking a step forward. Can't say the same for Treadwell, but maybe a different team is what he needs.

Re: Laquon Treadwell with another team?
Treadwell just doesn't seem like a Zimmer guy. Whether that means he isn't in his playbook enough or intelligent enough, who knows. It can't be an issue of work ethic. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been only 2nd to Thielen in WR snaps when Diggs was out.
A change of scenery can't hurt. With Diggs and Thielen, even if his game were further along, how much of a chance will he really get in MIN?

Anyway, slightly off-topic but personal anecdote on Treadwell (if it helps give a gauge on my price value as well as others'). This was shortly after Week 9 in my 10-team league. Team A had Brady, Wentz, and Dak this past season, and was not contending. REALLY wanted to sell Brady, even at a loss if he got some badly needed WR help out of it. Team B (me!) had Wilson at QB, but no backup QB, so some insurance at QB would be nice considering I was the front-runner and really wanted to maximize my chance at the ship. I offered Matt Breida + my 2nd (likely #17-20 at this point). Team A didn't like it that much, said he was gonna think about it though if he didn't get any better offers. That's fine, whatever. Wasn't a great offer anyway but I wasn't gonna overpay with my trust already in Wilson.
15 MINUTES LATER, news breaks out. Team A traded Brady to Team C for Laquon bleep Treadwell. Straight up. I think our entire league was floored. Partly because Team C was really only one of 4 legit contenders before the trade, and had just lost his starter Deshaun Watson literally the week before, leaving him with nothing but Tyrod at QB. So he pretty much had zero leverage. But he dangled Treadwell out there (he admitted later he was very close to dropping him at this point cause our rosters are small) and Team A took it immediately. So yeah my offer of Matt Breida + my 2nd got out-muscled by Laquon bleep Treadwell.
So that's my story of how the GOAT Tom Brady himself, got traded for Laquon bleep Treadwell. Needless to say, it's possible that Treadwell turns it around and that trade ends up becoming decent..... but until that happens, this has easily become our league's favorite recurring joke for the foreseeable future. ("Hey man remember that time you traded away the greatest player of all-time for Laquon bleep Treadwell?")

Re: Laquon Treadwell with another team?
Treadwell is behind 2 really good WRs and the coaching staff should have done more with him. I think if he gets traded, it would be a good thing for him. The guy has a great work ethic and is young. He is probably not going to be stud, but think he could a high side WR2 with WR1 potential. Think Funchess is a good comparison. Had Treadwell went to Carolina instead of Minny...you would not be finding on leagues wavier wires...like I did...lol.

guys with his work ethic, probably more often than not.
From a year ago.
"Vikings impressed by work ethic of Laquon Treadwell"
"According to Vikings.com, Treadwell can often be found near the JUGS machine if he’s not on the field with his team. Constantly honing his craft, the wide receiver is continually working on his catches and can lose track of time while doing so."
https://thevikingage.com/2016/08/07/min ... treadwell/
From Nov
"Zimmer told Treadwell to ease up on workouts"
"The Vikings coach has told the second-year receiver he can't work out so hard all the time because recovery is important in the NFL. Zimmer said that about four weeks ago, it sunk in."
