In your fantasy dreams, who does SF sign in free agency?

Postby Dookmarriot » Thu Jan 18, 2018 7:34 am

They've got gobs of cap space. They might have found a QB. They have plenty of holes. So who would you like to see land in the Bay Area's only NFL team (well, soon enough, anyway). Robinson? Landry? Bell? Feel free to include IDP targets as well.

Bell would be interesting but he will be back in Pittsburgh. I think ARob would be the perfect fit. They have a slot guy in Garcon and a deep threat in Goodwin so a big bodied WR would be great for that team.

I'll watch them do nothing exciting in the slightest

I own Arob and Landry shares and while Garop looked promising, I'm not sure that's the place I'd desire them to go

Bell won't leave Pittsburg. They'll fight and fight and fight and in the end he'll show up in the locker room and get ready for week 1 game with the franchise tag on him once again

Bell whines, but I do think he has a fantastic point of how Runningbacks should be paid more than they are since they only have a limited time after their rookie contracts expire, and many of them are doing the between the tackles work and receiver work as well

I have this gut feeling it will be underwhelming for fantasy.

I do not think the Jags let ARob go. I cannot see them shelling out for Landry. I think the Rams will not let Watkins go either.

I agree with this. The Rams at the very least will tag Watkins. ARob I believe re signs in Jacksonville and Landry wants top dollar. But they do have the cap space, so maybe they sign someone like Landry. I have Goodwin as a back up WR and was hoping he remains a high WR3, or WR2. As for RB's, do they draft one? Re sign Hyde? The reports seem to me mixed on Hyde.

I hope Arob doesnt go to SF. Theres a huge delusional Niners homer in my league and will not trade Arob to me because hes 1000% convinced he is going to SF. This homer also believes SF is a SB contender because they beat the Jags and the Jags beat the Steelers and are in the AFC title game....

In my fantasy dreams, Sammy Watkins considering Shanny's track record with elite production from his WR1's and Sammy is just wasting away on my bench. But I cant imagine the Rams let Sammy walk after giving up a player and a 2nd rounder for him. I am hoping they decide a compensatory pick will be enough for letting Sammy leave if it will allow them to lock up Aaron Donald long term though.

I've been on the Watkins to SF train all year long. Id love to see it happen as i believe Shanahan is the guy to finally make Watkins a true #1.

Landry ro SF would be interesting. Could be used similar to how the Pats deploy Edelman etc in the slot. Level of comfort for Jimmy G.

Well see

I don't see SF spending a lot on Jarvis Landry when Trent Taylor is developing well and already has a good rapport with Garoppolo. I also don't know that SF will pay up for Sammy Watkins unless it's a one-year prove-it deal, and even then that is assuming LAR would be willing to let him walk to a divisional opponent. I would think SF's priorities would include:

1. Jimmy Garappolo to lock down a franchise QB to pair with Kyle Shanahan
2. Marqise Lee and Austin Seferian-Jenkins to add speed and size to the offense
3. Andrew Norwell to protect their investment in Garoppolo
4. Sheldon Richardson and Dontari Poe to solidify the front seven
5. Lamarcus Joyner to anchor their secondary

I would be thrilled and it would be lethal if Landry goes to SF. Perfect locked target for Jimmy G. Can he be more than a slot guy with bad YPC in Shanahan's offense ? I tend to think yes. His game has already changed in better this year and he proved to be a great RZ target (#3 in NFL) and TD producer in this zone (#2 in NFL)
