Might put the kiboosh on the 49ers signing any big name FA WRs and going the draft route instead (maybe with their 3rd or 4th round picks).

They still have the 5th most cap space and I would say a pretty big need at WR, and there aren't many free agents with upside similar to that of Watkins or Robinson. They'd have a much easier time fixing other holes in the draft than WR, no?

I’m really surprised that the 49ers haven’t signed at least one FA WR. They haven’t really been active other than signing Sherman but I know FA really doesn’t start until Wednesday. I thought they would be more active but they must have a plan.

Strange with their massive cap space and the attractive destination that Robinson, Watkins, Norwell, and Dion Lewis all got away. Especially the receivers given that there doesn't figure to be another opportunity to get young players of that caliber again any time soon. Where is all that money going to go? For a team on the rise it seems the 49ers squandered a big opportunity here.
