Todd Haley GONE

I know the writing was on the wall the last few weeks about this and I am not going to panic sell AB and Bell or anything like that but as a rational Steelers fan (and owner of AB and Bell in a lot of leagues) this makes me nervous. The rumor is Mike Munchak may take over as OC! Keep in mind Haleys offenses in the NFL ranked 3rd, 2nd, 7th and 3rd the last 4 years. He may be gruff and hard to get along with, but the results (everywhere he goes) speaks for themselves.

It's a little weird too since even though his relationship with Big Ben has been strained, he just came out the other day in support of Haley keeping his job. Something to the effect of, "As little change as possible," is what's best to keep the team humming along. Now this?

I suppose it's another example of the though process where, "We just suffered a tough loss in the playoffs. Now someone has to pay!" I'm not sure that's always the best approach. And in this case I don't know that it will make the Steelers a better team on offense. I watched a lot of that game last weekend, and while there were a couple of turnovers, the offense wasn't the reason Pittsburgh lost. They simply didn't do a good job of stopping Jacksonville, and couldn't turn Bortles over. That's Todd Haley's fault?

Too bad we already hired Schottenheimer in Seattle. I'd rather have Haley. I think this is a mistake, and possibly a gift for the other teams in the AFC North.

I posted this on facebook, more as a steelers fan but it blew me away as a re-read it:
3, 2, 7, 3...those were the rankings of his offenses from 2014-2017. In that same stretch the Steelers D was ranked 18, 21, 12, 5 with way way way more high end draft resources spent on that side of the ball. Over the last 4 NFL drafts (the same time frame as these rankings) the Steelers have used 7 out of a possible 8 1st or 2nd round draft picks on the defensive side of the ball. The same defense that gave up 38 points to the Jaguars...but yeah, the offense is the problem. SMH.

the rumors about he & BB not meshing have been constant since his hiring basically , BB wanted arians kept as they are buds . I don't think this will change the steelers all that much especially if munchak takes over as OC . Randy Feichtner the qb coach will likely call the plays and the offense will still be loaded with premium weapons and a terrific OLINE .

I would take any report of Ben supporting Haley with a rather large grain of salt. Ben is a prima donna and a drama queen and what he publicly says should not be trusted.

Uhhh wouldnt that be on Big Ben who makes the decision to throw to AB instead of Bryant? Haley doesnt tell Ben "throw it to AB no matter how many are covering him!"
