Best of What's Left
Seems a lot of people were complaining about the caliber of QB left to face Tom Brady. Curious as to how people have the remaining QBs ranked.

Re: Best of What's Left
Currently it is Keenum, Bortles, Foles. Long term would be a whole other question as we have all seen this story before. Good and bad.

Re: Best of What's Left
I’m not saying there’s a future GOAT or even close in the above listed names, so don’t go crazy over this comment. Just wanted to point out that once upon a time, Tom Brady was a late pick, horribly unathletic game manager QB that played “above his level” in most people’s opinions when he first started winning these big games.
Also, for those crying that Brees isn’t in it anymore...he was once thought of as a failed qb set to be replaced by Rivers...until he wasn’t.
Maybe we shouldn’t laugh off Keenum’s success. He did have a fair amount of success in college. He failed under Jeff Fisher (so did everyone!) and that failure is somehow discrediting his current level of play.

Re: Best of What's Left
*whispers* Case Keenum will start all 16 games next year
Lol but for real this guy is getting harder and harder to ignore. That throw to Diggs was a beautiful pass! He made throws all day that were perfect, he can read defenses, and he can perform in the clutch. He is becoming very fun to watch!

Valhalla likes Keenum more than Bradford?
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Well now I know the identity of 2 of the people who voted Bradford.
And agreed!

Re: Best of What's Left
Where do you think the 3 Vikings QBs end up next year?
Keenum, I think, will be paid around $12-15M/yr to be the starter in Minny. Wherever he goes, it'll be a bit of a fake contract of course, like Tyrod, but he will at least top Glennon's money.
Bradford will sign in Denver or Arizona, probably a 1-2 year deal?
There's no way a team signs Bridgewater to be a starter in week 1, right? He will go somewhere and either be a great backup or fight for a starting gig in NY?

Re: Best of What's Left
I think a lot will have to do with whether or not the Vikings or Eagles win the Super Bowl or not.
Why?
Well recall that the Patriots first Super Bowl was won by Brady, but after Bledsoe went down. But more importantly if either of the NFC teams win it will send a reminder how important it can be to have more than 1 QB who has starting capabilities (and at the time of Bradys first SB win no one knew he had more than starting capabilities).
Toss in the fact that QBs are becoming more and more in demand - and you might see Keenum and either Bradford or Bridgewater (more likely) stick with the Vikings.
Teams might start restructuring their salary caps to pay more than 1 QB ...

Re: Best of What's Left
I don’t think the Vikings FO knows for sure what they will be doing yet. If Keenum wins it all, how do you not ride the jersey and lock him up? If he falls flat on his face against the Eagles (really don’t see this happening), then it probably comes down to contract negotiations. I think right now they probably want to keep Keenum as the starter and either Bradford or Bridgewater as backup, as long as the contracts aren’t out of hand. If Keenum is given a very high offer by another team, I could see them giving Bradford a 2 year contract and trying to keep Bridgewater around on a backup contract.
Heck...maybe they franchise tag Keenum to see another year, then take the pick if someone actually decides to beat the price. Then sign the other two. It’s impossible to know what will happen there as there’s just too many questions yet to be answered, like how Keenum performs through the rest of playoffs. Or maybe he rolls an ankle and Bradford goes on to beat the Eagles and win the Super Bowl as well. That kind of stuff would play a big role in who gets weighted contract consideration, because fanfare does play a role in that.
