Which I quickly said no to. What is a good offer for the 1.01?

You can try swapping out funchess for josh Gordon if he’s one of the guys that’s in love with him. Saying that your initial offer was a bit short as to me Jeffery=Davis and then wentz+funchess<<1.1

His counter is maybe a bit much, but it's much closer to fair value than your initial offer which wasn't even close for the 1.01 alone, not to mention with Davis added on top.

If he's like most 1.01 owners, I think OBJ or Thomas are going to have to be included to interest him in moving it.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I started the offer just to see where we were in talks. The guy needs help in a lot of areas and getting Wentz and two receivers could help his team be competitive. The counter was pretty steep but maybe we'll find a nice common ground. Lots of time to discuss it...

Don't feel bad... I had asked for the same 1.01 & Davis.

Offered 2018 1.02+ 2019 1st+ Marvin Jones + R.Anderson + Crowell to the last place team that needs help everywhere. Immediately rejected and told it was "not even close " "insulting".

My takeaway is most owners love big name players over quality depth production. Every player except Crowell would be likely starters for their team and even he could be a serviceable player for bye weeks or trading asset.

Most spent heavy capital on Davis and others believe Saquon is already top ten overall. (PPR lg) But to call it insulting or not even close I don't get. To each their own though.

When you offer a bunch of decent pieces, plus another first to move one spot in the draft adn the reply is insulting, then that is a guy i do not bother offering trades to ever again. I dont take how much the hype is on Barkley, he could have just turned it down or countered (doubtful). I dont even personally love the pieces you added, but it is one spot, albeit for a player who should be good to great, though no guarantee. If i reply an offer is insulting, it better be clearly, universally insulting. Otherwise, it just screams small man syndrome to me.

Yeah, I'm not about the name calling and offer bashing. If you don't like it, an easy "No thank you" will do or a counter. Once you get into the "but he's worth WAAAY more than that..." you're dealing with overzealous owners that think they can pillage your starting lineup for one guy. No thanks. Keep Barkley and whoever else you get at 1.01 or 1.02 the next 2-3 years.

To be fair, he was asking for Corey Davis as well, who most owners already have a top 2-3 rookie pick invested in. That’s quite a bit more than just moving up one spot.

Haha, nah. He's been burnt MANY times on ill-advised trades:

Rod Smith for Marvin Harrison (yeah, I've been playing fantasy football a long time)
Deuce McAllister for Stephen Davis

This list goes on and he just doesn't wanna be the butt of the jokes anymore. Now, HE wants to be the one that pulls the wool over someone's eyes only he just can't do it. We did make a trade midseason (HIS McKinnon, TColeman, '19 second for MY '18 1st rounder and Marlon Mack) so it can be done. We'll see where this goes. I like Barkley a lot but not enough to gouge my starting lineup for him.
