I like Lindsay a lot, but I think people need to temper expectations moving forward. Lindsay deserves to be the passing down back in Denver - they should just cut bait with Booker.

But he's undersized and is a long shot to unseat R. Freeman as the primary ball carrier. I think it's more than likely that his 15 week 1 carries end up being his season high.

I expect Lindsay to have a lot of weeks with 5-6 carries, 3-4 catches, and maybe 50 total yards from scrimmage. He should post some productive weeks, but I think he's got a long way to go before he becomes a reliable fantasy starter.
He could surprise you... 10 of his 15 rushes were inside the tackles and he averaged 4.30 YPC on those runs. Meanwhile, Freeman managed only 3.44 YPC inside the tackles. Small sample size for sure, but I wouldn't want to underestimate him.

Well, I just used 100% of my FAAB on him. Thought I was going too far, but another owner bid 85% his. Good find don’t come very often, so I figured it was worth a shot. Looks like worst case scenario he is the passing down back. Best case, he could continue performances like last week. It was worth the shot.

Similar logic, figure he's a quality committee back with potential for more. I won him in a keeper league for 56 of 100 bucks, beat the closest offer by 2 bucks.

I picked him up during our rookie draft. It's early, very early but the potential is defiantly there!

Yeah, you may be right. I went back and re-watched the game and he looked impressive even on inside runs.

I just don't expect the Broncos' coaching staff to turn the reigns over to him full-time. I envision Freeman getting a larger split of the carries moving forward (right or wrong) and they seem unwilling to part ways with D. Booker so he'll be mixed in as well.

I do think Lindsay will be a solid PPR play when the Broncos play against good offenses (they play KC x2, LAC x2, LAR, and PITT) - that will force Denver to play from behind and Lindsay seems to be the trusted 3rd down back.

As for R.O.S. outlook, I'd put Lindsay in the same category as pass-game specialists like J. White, D. Johnson, T. Riddick, etc. - useful but not super valuable.

Keep on mind the Seahawks D probably watched no tape on him so he caught them off guard. He sure is explosive but let's see what he does after he puts a few games on tape. Remember how hot Cohen was to start off last year?

I’m confused because he has no comp. he doesn’t run like anyone that size. In fact the closest comparison to how he runs is Derrick Henry in my eyes. And that’s just so weird of a comparison I don’t know what to think.

While I think Cohen is a decent comparison because of their size & agility, they weren't used the same way at all.

Defenses will always catch on to gadget plays / players once they see them on film a few times. If I remember correctly, Cohen was deployed as a slot WR, jet sweeps, reverses, and other designed plays.

Lindsay was used as a traditional RB in pre-season and throughout week 1 - they even gave him 7 carries in the 4th quarter between the tackles as they tried to milk the clock.

Personally, I think his best comparison is Dion Lewis (maybe a poor-man's Dion Lewis). Neither player tested particularly well, but both players have a lot in common - both are 5' 8" and sub-200 pounds, plus receivers out of the backfield, and have sudden start / stop ability to make people miss in the open field. Their size will always be a liability and prevent them from ever receiving a full workload (and staying healthy w/ that workload).

It will be interesting to see how Denver continues to utilize Lindsay moving forward...

With all the death and destruction so far at RB, never mind my own team's disasters, I'll take 'im!

I earned that #1 waiver priority pick last week, let me tell you... :wall:

Hopefully he's occasionally startable going forward. But seriously, is it 2019 yet?

I don't know if it's encouraging or discouraging that he hasn't gotten many catches. I do like it because I think he will be even more productive once/if they start targeting him.
