Keelan Cole

Postby DynastyDeepDive » Mon Dec 18, 2017 4:31 am

Should we start to believe this kid has a future in the fantasy community?

3 straight weeks with a TD and in a good situation with Lee and Robinson both free agents.
In too many leagues to list players. Check out my Dynasty Deep Dive!

I've been highlighting this kid since the pre-season, before people even knew he existed. Our competition JUST started following him a week or two ago. This is why people come to DLF. Yes ... you most certainly should. He has a route/speed/hands dynamic that made him stand out to me and all he needed was an opportunity to see the field. Wasn't sure it would be this year but injuries afforded him that opportunity.

I'd love to stash him for next year but our league's a bit small... only 180 players are rostered (not including K/DEF). He's probably not roster material unless somehow both Robinson AND Lee left the Jaguars, right?

I completely and involuntary have 4 Jag WRs rostered.

He was on my bench.. Worth a stash but hard to trust moving forward with their top 3 wrs hurt.

I started DeDe Westbrook over him this week, and lost. So a believer too late.
I will get to stash him - however, I'm a little leery about his future because of all the WRs who will be returning from injury next summer. May be a sell high for me leading up to the draft next year.

That's just it. With only ~180 deep (15 players in a 12 team league), he's a guy you just have to leave on waivers even if you love the talent...because you don't want to "flag" him to other league members, yet you can't afford to roster a bench player with such a shallow bench.
Knowing about guys like Cole but having to sit on your hands is why I really dislike shallow depth. It basically doesn't matter as much if you are ahead of the curve, because you can't afford to roster most guys until they are already producing.

I went to put in a waiver claim for him in a league but he was already owned. Then I realized that I added him last week haha. I think there's upside here, but there's still uncertainty in the JAX QB situation next year as well as how targets will be distributed. I'd say Cole is still in the "upside stash" category like a Trent Taylor or Mack Hollins.

Able to grab him in two leagues last week. Pretty stoked about it.

That's tough to do but I think I would. It's really a roll of the dice there IMO. They both have talent, one like Welker and one like Diggs. Either one could see a bunch of "draft status" talent placed above them next year, or could see the window of opportunity continue.

Luckily a good bit of my league seems asleep at the wheel right now and I was able to pick him up. It's tough to put a gauge on how valuable he will be next season at this point because of the amount of question marks at WR with the Jaguars. I kind of agree with what meineymoe posted in that he might be a good sell high candidate, will be easy to market if he continues to put up good numbers into the post season.

With his late production, I don't see ANY way they're not going to give him every opportunity to succeed coming out of the gate. Even if all their receivers stay on board.

It really depends on what happens with the FA receivers. I have Dede and Keelan on one team, but slightly like Dede more. Their run game is really going to be good for whoever is catching the ball, and at least nobody ahead of him is a picture of good health. Also, who throws them the ball next year?

What would be a pick value for him? Late 2nd/early 3rd or just hold? I am trying to see what would be a good counter for someone that I know likes him
