Which of these 3rd-tier RBs do you believe in?

Postby lukkynumber13 » Tue Dec 12, 2017 4:00 pm

Obviously these guys are all different types of runners and in different situations, but I think they're somewhat similar as assets going into 2018.

Each has a ceiling to maybe lead a backfield, with the floor being that they disappoint and become a clear 2nd string RB, with no weekly start-ability by the 2nd half of 2018 (see Matt Jones, 2016)

How would you rank them?

Given the chance, I think both Drake and Cro can/have proven they can be capable. I do like Coleman too.

Not sure that Drake has proven anything that all these other guys hasn't proven (with the exception of Mack and Foreman). Every other guy on the list has had some really nice weeks.

I agree on Crowell tho, even tho I'm not a "truther" in the sense that I don't think he's special, he's absolutely good enough to be a weekly starter if on a competitive team.

I voted Collins & Coleman..

Almost swapped Coleman for Foreman but his injury worries me.

So at this point are people valuing Collins > Coleman?

Coleman would be my 1st choice. Then it's between Drake and Collins.

Coleman definitely won't be rated this low in actual trade talks, but I do think he's been overvalued for quite some time. Because he's been on a good offense, and produced very solid numbers on limited touches, we expect that he'd be a stud if and when he ever gets a full time gig.

Personally, I think he's one of those guys who will always be best as part of a committee (think Lamar Miller). Frankly, he's kind of proven that already. He's had several games in his career where he's been a full time back and he's been kind of underwhelming.

I've never owned Crowell in any format, and for the most part I don't think he's all that good. But given the other players on this list (and Crowell's recent success the past couple weeks), I'm surprised he's only garnered a single vote. I guess that's what national TV does for you...

Ranked as follows;
Foreman would be higher but for his injury. McKinnon shows flashes but not often enough. Crowell might be a stud on a better team, good luck with that anytime soon. How can you not have Collins #1?

1) Alex Collins
2) Kenyan Drake
3) Marlon Mack
4) Tevin Coleman
5) Semaje Perine
6) Jamal Williams
7) Donta Foreman
8)Isaiah Crowell
9) Jerick McKinnon
12 team standard dynasty, 20 player roster:
QB's: A Rodgers, J Garroppolo
RB's: T Gurley, A Kamara, Rashad Penny, John Kelly, Chase Edmonds
WR's: M Evans, M Thomas, A Cooper, A Robinson, C Davis, DJ Moore, Tre'Quan Smith, M Williams, G Allison
TE: T Kelce, OJ Howard,
Def: Bears
K: J Elliot

I'm not 100 percent positive but I believe Isaiah Crowell only has 1 20+ carry performance in his entire career - I can only wonder how much of this has to do with the fact that he is on the Cleveland Browns and thus never had a good QB (or even the same QB for any length of time) or a lead to work with ;)
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I prefer Collins and Coleman with a step down to whomever might be #3. Probably Crowell.

Wow very shocked by the results. I voted Coleman myself. I know he is a backup right now and that does not look to be changing. However, I do think he is the most talented out of the Rb's listed. He also can contribute in the passing game which is a plus in my book.

I then chose Crowell, which is kind of funny as I try to reason it. I don't belive he is the most talented in this group, and would say he's closer to the middle of the pack than top. However, he is a starter right now, and I do believe he has a chance of continuing this next season. The browns may draft someone, but out of the guys listed he'd be the guy I'd grab. Plus I think Crowell is a pure runner which may bode him some time to keep the job.

Drake was a close second for me. However, I do think Miami will draft someone. I drafted Drake in my first dynasty league and loved him coming out however, Miami never seemed to commit to him. Foster year, Jay got the carries before Drake. Then this year there was talk that Williams would be the backup to Jay, and Williams got more of the running carries when it was just him and Drake for the first two weeks. Maybe Drake impresses Miami and they finally open their eyes? I just don't see it happening.

Jeez recency bias is one helluva drug. It's Tevin Coleman and it isn't particularly close.
