Lacy and Rawls 2018

Postby joshb » Fri Dec 08, 2017 4:05 pm

Both these guys are free agents after this year, and both have at one time been hot commodities. Anyone see a resurgence for either one next year or will they be stuck as second string guys for the rest of their careers? Any good possible destinations in 2018?

Rawls, sure if he can ever stay healthy.

Lacy, nope. He will be on waivers in almost every league this time next year.

Totally agreed on Lacy. Dude looks like a plodding 3rd-stringer. I don't see any situation that will improve his stock.

Rawls problem hasn't been health this year, it's that he's making bad decisions on the field. Not hitting the right hole, running into his blockers, generally not exhibiting any patience. The coaches tried to get him to settle down, but nothing worked. So now he's running behind everyone and likely won't see many snaps unless someone goes down.

I do think Rawls gets signed somewhere as a backup, and whether or not he can get his head on straight will determine if there's anything to see with him. Still, I'd think he's a guy you'll be able to grab late next year as a FA in your draft, or grab him off the wire if he actually shows something. I cut him before our wire/trade deadline and don't regret it at all.

When both Carson and Davis make you look less talented as an NFL RB, you're just not playing very well. That's the case with Rawls and Lacy.

Both should be on waivers
In too many leagues to list players. Check out my Dynasty Deep Dive!

Unlikely either makes an impact next year (or ever) but I’d rather own Rawls. Lacy is physically washed up and can’t control his weight. Rawls could correct course but he needs a lot of things to go right both within and outside of his control.
