I really like your call on Janis. His metrics were ridiculous and though he was from Saginaw Valley, college production was awesome. I don't feel GB really gave him enough of a shot. Think he could thrive in the right situation. Maybe not a stash but keeping my eye out.

The host of the player profiler podcast also mentioned the patriots as being quietly interested in Janis. He might be too deep a stash for my roster though.GLSmk wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2017 7:29 pmI agree, playerprofiler has him comp'd with Alshon, Fitz and Nelsonzelldawg26 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2017 6:32 pmGive me any reason other than being buried in GB and his low draft capital. Re: End of season stashes
Is it bad that on my rebuilder most of my players are listed as stashes in this thread? Which means they all are going to break out and be fantasy studs next year.

The host is a uh.... character. So be warned. But he said he had a very reliable source saying the patriots were keeping a close eye on Janis. Maybe nothing comes of it. But something to monitor.

Re: End of season stashes
Janis and Thielen are nothing alike as players. Janis runs his routes like they're painted on the ground, and seems to only know how to use his athleticism to free himself from a defender. Problem is, if you're going to play that way, you'd better have damn good hands. He doesn't. This (for now) relegates him to the category of "run fast in a line and hope the defender falls down" wide receiver. This could, of course, be coached in a new context (damn sure wasn't going to happen in GB, where Rodgers needs his wide receivers to be field-smart and know how to break off routes). But, I'd rather bet a bench spot on some of the other guys listed here with a clearer path to relevance, and watch for signs of improvement on the field from Janis before making a move for him.
Re: End of season stashes
I don't think anyone was comparing them as players. I simply asked if someone thought he may have a break out season similar to the fact that Thielen did after being in the league a few yearsMontrealBen wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2017 7:18 pm Janis and Thielen are nothing alike as players. Re: End of season stashes
Ah, gotcha. My mistake. What has been brought up are (a) the point that he's had incredible competition in front of him blocking his way (true) and (b) some player profiler comparisons to some excellent WRs. I just wanted to add the reasons that I understand to have kept him off the field over his nearly 5 years in the league. Rostering him means hoping that a 27 year old wide receiver will all of a sudden fix some serious flaws. Possible, but the path is clearer for more of the other guys named in the thread.
Re: End of season stashes
I think Moncrief is more likely to break out than Janis
Re: End of season stashes
Why so much love for Tyrell Williams as a stash? He seems to get so much love.
