Way too early keeper selections

Postby Jigga94 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 9:10 am

Since I am all but out of it and the trade deadline has passed, I thought I'd look at my 14 keepers for next season.

This could all easily change by August but I wanted to see what everyone else thought of it now and what changes they would make. Also thought it would be cool to see the changes come next season. I value other's opinions and feedback GREATLY! Peace!

2QB/3WR Standard PPR - Keep 14
3- QB: Luck, Brees, Mahomes, Flacco, Eli
1- RB: Abdullah, Booker, Riddick, Buck, Dixon, Ekeler
8- WR: Julio, Cooks, Parker, JuJu, C. Davis, Sanders, Shepard, Gordon, Treadwell
2- TE: Henry, Rudolph, Hooper

POST-Draft EDIT:

QB: Flacco likely not being kept now after sub-par season and Jackson in town. Trade Bait? I couldn't sell Brees last season for a 2nd rounder in a 2 QB league :?
Eli likely not an option either. Could draft a rookie QB later. Got Mahomes late last season.
Might not keep Flacco if a RB emerges. Brees retiring could free up a spot as well
RB: Traded away Gordon for Julio and now very thin at RB but I dont see myself keeping Booker or Riddick over someone like Sanders or J. Gordon. So WR heavy and have 0 RB. Definitely will address that in the draft with 1st 2 picks or trade WR for RB.
WR: Too many options?
TE: Rudolph should be ranked higher than I feel hes worth, might put him on the trade block

WR CeeDee Lamb, Justin Jefferson, DJ Moore, Hollywood Brown, Brandin Cooks, Odell Beckham Junior, Marvin Jones, Braxton Berrios, Richie James
TE Dalton Kincaid, Foster Moreau
+2 Flex

And I would probably keep Booker instead of Gordon

2 qb you gotta keep Flacco IMO, to me I’d keep Hooper over J. Gordon

Thanks for the suggestions all. I was going to write a note that TE are not highly coveted. I could throw hooper back and get him again with a mid to late round pick. But I agree him and Rudolph are both good talents, but I can't get a starting QB as easily.

You've done an excellent job on this team. You should have tried to trade up aggressively before the deadline, but that is hard to do in a keeper league.

I would keep Flacco, Josh Gordon, Henry, Mahomes, and Hooper over Shepard, Sanders, and Rudolph.

What’s the difference between a dynasty league and a 14 keeper league?
10 team .5 PPR, 14 keepers, 18 roster spots + 1 IR;
Starters: 1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 Flex.
QB: G. Smith, D. Watson
RB: B. Hall, E. Mitchell, C. Edmonds, M. Carter, K. Herbert, Z. White, E. Benjamin
WR: J. Chase, M. Brown, DJ Moore, G. Wilson, T. McLaurin, E. Moore, R. Bateman, J. Palmer, R. Doubs, K. Shakir
TE: Pitts

Not much difference, basicaslly you lose your bench sleepers every year. You keep 14 players and the rest go into the 10 round draft with the rookies. Makes studs and picks more valuable, and helps keep all the teams balanced somewhat.

Thanks for your input above! And precisely, we are still expanding the teams slowly so we are up to 14 now with rosters as large as 26 (2 IR). The starters are key as i usually have this hard time throwing back a player like Sanders or hooper.

Nm.

To get back on topic, I like your keepers. Looks like a really solid team. I’d be afraid of only keeping one RB but it seems like a fairly solid class to do that in.

I suspect Booker may take over the Denver backfield from Anderson, hopefully we’ll see that before the end of the season.

The great thing about Booker is I can keep him all season and don't have to make a decision until August once we know how depth charts are shaking out

With Henry on IR, it looks like I will definitely be keeping Rudolph and redrafting another TE late again. Blows that one keeper will solely be used for an IR player already
