The YAC percentage is an interesting stat to look at, I just disagree with the "receivers are doing more than half the work that he's getting credit for" part.

For another point of view, here are Cousins numbers with his top 4 receiving targets last year (from Fox).
Pierre Garcon: 1041 yards/ 361 YAC/ 34.7% YAC
DeSean Jackson: 1005/287/28.6%
Jamison Crowder: 847/386/45.6%
Jordan Reed: 686/246/35.9%
Total (top 4): 3579/1280/35.8%

So maybe the high percentage of YAC is just a result of his top 4 targets being 2 TEs, a RB, and a slot WR. If anything, this is another feather in Cousins' cap. He has maintained a high level of success despite a drastically different set of weapons. That bodes well for him if he does end up leaving Washington for a new situation, IMO.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Cousins spreads the ball around. Part of the reason his receivers get YAC is because they are open when they get the ball, or he goes somewhere else. There are 131 receivers with 35+ targets on the season and 7 of them are Redskins, most in the NFL. The only teams with 6 players on this list are the Pats and the 49ers, and both have a lot more pass attempts than the Redskins. Similarly, last season the Skins were one of two teams to have 6 players with 59+ targets (along with the Eagles). The offensive scheme might get much of the credit for this, but we all know that many QBs in the league wouldn't be capable of spreading the ball around this much.

I think it is pretty simple.

Alex Smith is scoring similar to Kirk Cousins this year.

Also Kirk Cousins doesnt throw a ton of TDs (yet to have a 30+ season) and owners like TDs.

He's neither "old" with a history of elite production like Brees/Brady/Rodgers nor "young" with that tantalizing upside like Wentz/Prescott nor does he run like a Newton/Wilson (so no rushing upside) so hes in that middle area of meh I can get this production with a similar QB so why should I value him more.

Nor does he lead his team to memorable 4th quarter comebacks that garner him fame. He's never had more than 4 in any given season.

It's simple - age. You should know by now this community places an absurd premium on age.
The only players older than him in the top 12 are Rodgers, Brady & Ryan.

Then 3 of them are 28 - Wilson, Luck & Cam. All of which I can see why they are ranked above him.

Then that is where age comes in; as the other 6 are 26 or younger.

The two guys in his age range I could see the argument to put him above are Ryan & Cam; but I could see that argument going either way. So that maybe puts him at QB11.

Then everyone is just younger and has shown upside - and you know how rankings around here work. Age comes before talent.

I was an OG Cousins supporter. But something about him is just underwhelming, he's not as good as his numbers suggest. This season in particular I've been noticing his accuracy is quite hit and miss.

There is no right answer but no doubt a compilation of a lot of things previously mentioned. He's hardly the only player who is valued less than their production. We see similar examples at all positions.

I believe a big factor that always drives value amounts to little more than preconceived expectations. Owners are slow to change their opinions, positively or negatively. Cousins wasn't expected to be great so in the eyes of many, he never will be viewed in such a way.

He is my Dynasty QB. I'm very happy with him. I'm a bit concerned with where he will land in 2018 and perhaps that is playing a role? San Fran. appears out with Jimmy G going there. I think he will end up in a good place, however, stranger things have happened.

I think it’s simply uncertainty. The redskins haven’t committed to him as their franchise qb and that means he may end up in a different situation next year and who knows how that will work out.

I traded for him about 3 weeks ago. One of the players I traded to get him summarily destroyed me this week, as expected. I got tired of trying to stream Rivers and Winston. I almost started Rivers over him this week because of the chance the Chargers got up early and just ran the ball all game.

I'd expect his value to plummet. My QB situation has always given me headaches, and I expect that to continue somehow.

Where do you think he lands? Where would be his best fantasy landing spot? Thinking NYJ, Cleveland, Arizona, or Denver

Everyone is saying Eli Manning is a great fit for JAX, but I think they would rather have a younger guy and nab Cousins if they can. DEN seems rumored to be very interested in Cousins, and I'd like that a lot if he had a good defense and Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders to throw to. Also, while unlikely, it'd be very interesting if MIN didn't re-sign any of their three QBs and went after Cousins. The only way I could see that happening though is if MIN got bounced out of the playoffs early as a result of Case Keenum's sub-par play.

Cousins in Minnesota would be awesome. Easily would be an upgrade over everyone else on the roster.

He probably stays in Washington. But if he doesn't, Denver would make the most sense to me (assuming they'll have enough cap space to sign him).

Arizona?

Edit: jk already said. I think it would be amazing to have cousins in AZ because there are an Online and QB away from playoffs imo. They can also buy a WR this year to pair with him.

They have 30M once palmer retires, and could have another 15M if Fitz hangs it up too
