Regardless of the stupid offense, Mariota is playing like absolute trash. He’s not driving his throws like he usually does, I suspect those injuries have done a number on him this year.

So the Steelers celebrate like crazy whenever they score a TD, except when the white boy gets one... haha poor Jesse James

I kept thinking during the game, is Mariota good?? The skycam gave a good view of what he was seeing and he seemed to miss a lot and settled for the checkdown very quickly.

Exotic smashmouth is just stupid and doesn't work when the back you insist on giving it to averages barely over 1 yard a carry while his younger better backup sees the ball just a few times. Get a real offensive coordinator who actually can design a play.

You could tell Mariota and Davis are just off right now. And yes, Davis does take some part in 2 of the picks for not driving back to the ball. They'll get that stuff ironed out though as they get more reps together. Same with Taylor and Smith - there's lots of growing pains going on, and Mariota is suffering this year as a result. Saw some glimpses last night with Davis, especially with the boundary catch. I fear that his potential won't be fully tapped into until Mularkey either leaves, or changes that archaic offense up (which probably won't happen).

^ I'd take into account that PIT pass defense has really been good this year, even with the loss of Haden, Sensabaugh was going to be the starter before he fell into their lap and many people have been curious to see what Golden could do .. good pass rush, a very fast LB in Shazier, not an easy team to throw on ..

Yeah, their D only compounded the issues, for sure. Perfect storm for a performance like that.

I'm going to need a surprising breakout game by Kelvin Benjamin to make up for what Antonio Brown did to me on Thursday. I'm not very confident, but I guess I'll just go ahead and root for the Peterman hype to be justified. : )

I'm really glad I didn't trade away Gurley this offseason. He's a very nice addition to Bell
