This.

I think this helps Drake the most.

Apples to Orangutans.

But I do agree that this move shouldn't be viewed as a positive until proven otherwise.

They gave up a back up guard in that deal. It was well worth the risk at the time.

This certainly helps Drake get more touches...but what does it say about Drake that he was unable to take any carries away from Ajayi? If one thinks Ajayi is nothing special, then, that really has to hurt Drake.

Bottom line here is there are several arguments that can be debated (with merit) on both sides of this deal...but we should know what Ajayi truly is by the end of this season...finally...I think...maybe...right?

Something must be up here. Ajayi either wanted out and the Phins had to trade for best offer or Ajayi sits, or something is fundamentaly wrong with Ajayi (presumably on the medical front). This smells fishy. Hopefully I can grab Mixon off of the Blount owner.

It doesn't sound impressive in fantasy but it's pretty valuable in real life.

Trades are always conditioned on medical checks. and a team in a win now mode isn't trading for a project. They clearly think Ajayi can give them that last oompf they need for a playoff run.

I wonder if it was the Eagles asking about Frank Gore. There were Twitter rumors about Gore being moved today.

Gase had publicly called out Ajayi for his lackluster play this season so this isn't totally a surprise. It would not completely surprise me if Hyde is traded to Miami today.......

But then why would the dolphins sell for a fourth?

Please see my comments earlier in this thread regarding this pick. Frankly, a 4th round pick is probably the MOST they are going to get from another team. Ajayi isn't some great talent. He's not any better than backs taken in those middle rounds of an NFL draft. This was solid value for a team that has a LOT of holes to fill.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I'm sure it was somewhat a mutual parting of ways, but we heard a lot about the bone-on-bone knee issues leading up to the draft, to the point where some were calling it a ticking time-bomb, so I'm inclined to believe this: "The Dolphins traded Ajayi because they believe his most productive games are behind him, fearing the knee issues stemming from a significant 2011 surgery are finally catching up to him, team sources tell ESPN's Jeff Darlington."

For those who are saying a 4th is so cheap, it's really not. Players in the NFL don't get traded much and when they do, it's usually for conditional 6th or 7th rounders
