When were talking about shaving tenths of a seconds off players speeds, so much comes into play that the combine doesn't test for.

1. So you tested a 4.5, can you run a 4.5 in the 3rd and 4th quarter? Or does your stamina wane? The combine doesn't test for stamina
2. Spacial Awareness. Simple handfighting, or slight changes in direction can keep a CB or S who is technically a tenth of a second faster behind the WR as he is slowed by changing to the WR/RB
3. The simple act of tackling when chasing someone down will necessarily slow you for just the smallest bit, but slow nonetheless...a big deal with tenths of a second in an 8 second play.

Love the combine, but this is why track stars flame out, there is more to running with the ball, than running.

Reports are out that Miller had surgery late last night to repair artery damage and keep his leg after his dislocated knee injury yesterday. Goes beyond any possible fantasy implications. Wish him the best of luck in his recovery and hope the impact of this does not linger for the rest of his life.

Yeah, I live in Chicago and was out with a bunch of buds for the early games, that injury to Zack Miller looked horrible and then they took the TD away from him? Rough way to end the season, hopefully he makes a full recovery.
