What's ridiculous is not considering the risk of a player, especially in dynasty. Can't speak for the others that commented but I never said to dump him for cheap, but he's a risk for certain right now. Everyone talks up the injuries of Gronk and age as reason to sell now but some seem to forget Eifert is only a year younger and has missed more games than Gronk over the past five years :surprised:

What's ridiculous is dropping a top 5 TE talent who still has a very good chance at playing longer. You weren't advocating dropping him, but other people were. The injuries are clearly an issue, but not enough to drop him and act like you profited.

I just read this thread twice and only one person said they dropped him in a 12 team 21 roster spot league, and one that said he saw him dropped but has him in 2 leagues. The rest are either selling, buying, or holding.

Just sayin'.

I wouldn't drop Eifert, but I wouldn't consider him a top 5 TE "talent" either. If we're talking pure talent, there are plenty of TEs I would take over Eifert right now. Gronk, Kelce, Ertz, Reed, Henry, Engram, Graham, ASJ, and Kittle just off the top of my head are more talented and better fantasy assets. Of course, it's possible he comes back healthy and has a great 2018 season, but he's probably worth a late 2nd/early 3rd at this point. I highly doubt any owner would offer you more than that right now for Eifert.

I was always a proponent of selling Eifert back when he commanded multiple firsts, so it's surprising to me that I have now switched sides and am higher on him than most. Guess that's just how fantasy goes.

What would be your asking price/expectation as an owner today dynastyninja?

As an owner I probably wouldn't be selling unless I got a first (which I know I'm not getting right now). I'd be buying for a random 2nd.

Now that I can get behind. I did miss the "dropped completely" post and do have to agree that's a bit short sighted. I did trade Eifert, early Sunday morning, but I gave him and Gallman for Engram. That's more the deal I'm looking for as an owner. Sell his name value, get someone who is younger and considered (still a risk I suppose) a better asset.

No one is denying that he is a big risk, just that the dropoff some are mentioning is a big overreaction. Yes people talk about Gronk's age and injuries but not one is outright dropping him or trading him for the likes of Taywan Taylor or a random 3rd. Same goes for Reed.

Sure Eifert doesn't have the production history of those two but it just seems like an awfully large jump for him to go from 5th round startup pick to droppable and clearing waivers in a few weeks.

I'm clearly the one being discussed. I'll have you all know my league is an anomaly. So take that into your considerations. Tyler Eifert will not be picked up in my league. He won't garner any trade offers. Players like Dede Westbrook and Cameron Meredith are on waivers, as well as Chris Godwin. Our rosters are exceptionally shallow and most of these guys play redraft mentallity. My team has the roster in my signature below for a reason, and I'm set for the next 3 years at least. I can afford to drop Eifert and pick him and Meredith or Godwin at the end of the year before our draft by dropping my kicker/defense. No point holding when I need depth for bye-weeks and only have 1 IR spot and two elite IR receivers clogging my roster already. I know my league. I know how to win in my league. I know the players in my league. Your own mileage will vary.
