I mean this is his second broken collar bone right?

Same thing forced Romo to retire, should be considered.

Fairly certain it was Romo's back that forced him to retire. Not the collar bone.

It was rooms back that was the problem, the collar bone was the straw that broke the camels back.

The way bone breaks work is like muscles, they get broken and our bodies respond by fixing it and adding extra so it doesn't happen again, my cousin had the same thing happen to him and the dock days bones rarely break in the same place twice because of this.

Hmm I could be wrong on this but did Romo come back before it was fully healed and that's why it re-broke.

Same thing forced Romo to retire, should be considered.
The thing that forced Romo to retire was a transverse process fracture in his spine that led to Dak, who had the best season for a rookie QB in NFL history, to take over and basically steal the job from him. Yes, Romo had several collarbone fractures in his career because unlike most bones the clavicle isn't weight bearing so when you break it it doesn't heal "stronger" like you hear about happening with other bones in the body, so you're just as likely to break it in the future.

Romo's injuries stemmed from holding onto the ball too long, so long that not even the best offensive line in the NFL for 3-4 years could stop him from taking unnecessary hits, Rodgers doesn't have this problem, he's much better at knowing when to extend plays and when to get rid of the ball, that and his ability to avoid hits with his legs is wayyyy better than Romo's is/was. Unless you think somehow Hundley is going to play even better than Rodgers I wouldn't have any concerns about his future whatsoever.

if he rushes back and breaks it again he has all offseason for it to heal the next time.
I am not worried long term for Rodgers. Crappy deal for the Packers and the NFL this year though...guys like Rodgers make games fun to watch

If Dak struggled and the Cowboys lost a bunch of games with him under center, then Romo would still be the starting QB for the cowboys. Dak caused Romo to retire, not a broken bone.

ARod will be just fine. Broken bones heal stronger than before

Much more concerned with A.Luck's future than I am with ARod's long term outlook.

Not concerned, we will see how he throws when he's back but I think he will be fine.

I offered Rodgers for Luck or Watson and they both turned me down (and both were losing teams right now). I'm not concerned about Rodgers though. As I understand it, it is very rare to do surgery for a broken collar bone, but they know what they are doing. The only worry is that people are going to start retiring earlier because of the concussion thing, but that goes for everyone.

I thought the 1st break was on his left side and this one is on his right side which is why he'll be out for the season.

Not worried though.

I know he is a bit goofy looking, but calling him a camel is over the line.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

2013 -- broke his left (non-throwing arm) collarbone. Back after 7 weeks.
2017 -- broke his right (throwing arm) collarbone. He'll be out for the season.

Two unrelated and non-worrisome injuries. Collarbones heal fine.

The real worry is Hundley. He's legit, and I wonder if they'll just let him keep the job moving forward.
