ninotoreS wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2017 5:23 pm I think I recall reading somewhere that this year Cleveland has the youngest roster in the history of the NFL. Would Watson be doing nearly as well in Cleveland as he is in Houston with O'Brien's budding Patriots-derived offense? No, obviously.

That said, while I still don't blame Cleveland for trading back from 1.1 or 1.2, using the 1.12 on Watson would've been a great balance of risk, reward, and cost. Kizer was fine as a 2nd round pick, good value there for the potential upside, but it was always obvious Kizer would severely struggle as a year one starter. He wasn't a Day 1 pick for a reason. Kizer in round 2 should've been the kind of pick a team makes with a decent stop-gap veteran already filling in as the year one or two starter. Cleveland didn't have that, so they should've taken Watson after selecting Garrett.
It seemed like management felt Kessler was that stopgap guy. Jackson seemed to think Osweiler could've been that guy. Management cut Osweiler and Jackson dropped Kessler to 3rd string. I obviously don't know the inner workings of Browndom, but Jackson never struck me as an analytics guy and I think the lack of cohesion between the management and coaching might be a part of the issue.

Marlon Mack seems like a Tevin Coleman/Dalvin Cook type player doesn't he.

He is hilariously bad...and all the signs were there yet morons still drafted him in the 2nd of startups...I guess they didn't learn from CPatt and Michael Floyd.

Matt Harmon said he'd be good though.

True, there are people that take Harmon as gospel.

And there is a catch by another guy Harmon loved - Aiken.

...not trying to turn this into how unreliable Harmon actually is, though.

Haha...I am in a league with Harmon and needless to say his team is terrible! But I own his 2018 1st and it is a lock to be a Top 3 for superflex so I am happy that Matt Harmon loves himself some Matt Harmon.

Harmon used his methodology to produce an objective analysis of Moncrief's route-tree and success-rate following his second season, the results of which posited that Moncrief 'would be good'.

His methodology is good data, and I'm grateful someone does it and publishes it. But, obviously, forecasts aren't guarantees.

Harmon does more for the fantasy community than you have ever done, or ever will, flyersfan1981.

I mean shouldn't he do more than me given it is his chosen profession and this is a hobby for me?

Unreal. I'm currently winning by 1 point and the only guy going is Logan Ryan on my opponents team. If Tenn doesn't score, it's game over and I win. Now Ryan gets back on the field and I might lose with one of the higher scores this week.

Reception perception doesn't strike me as objective. It's sounds like a guy looking at all the routes of a given receiver and making a judgement call on whether a guy gets open. From Harmon:
A success is charted when a receiver "gets open" against the coverage. Creating separation, enough for the quarterback to have a reasonable target for the quarterback, is marked as a success.
When you have a guy making judgement calls on success or failure, that's the definition of subjective. I suspect he has some pseudo-objective measurements that he uses to define getting open, but there's only so much you can do to close that gap.
