Ty Montgomery job security?
I was unable to watch what looked like an amazing game today. The box score for Jones was unreal (19/125/1) but what will it mean for Ty who will likely be out at least another week?
Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
Jones looked very good, given it was Dallas.
I have never been impressed by Ty. The biggest thing he had going was volume which could be reduced. Owners should be worried.

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
Listen to me now but hear me later and believe me then; Jones is the best RB in GB.

Agreed. Montgomery hasn't done anything impressive to this point. If Jones keeps playing well in his absence, then I'm guessing we'll see more of a split going forward.

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
I would concur with the above, Jones looked good and I wouldn't be surprised if they let him run with the job for a couple of weeks to give Montgomery a real chance to heal and he may not relinquish the role as the starting back if he doesn't fall on his face

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
Jones will be the primary ball-carrier moving forward.
Ty will have a Riddick/Sproles/Woodhead role but likely with a few more carries than those guys received. That was always the ideal role for Montgomery. But, before Jones's breakout game, there was no one else who earned the right to get 15+ carries each week.

Wasn't TY a WR in college? See him as maybe both out there, split out wide with some carries?

Frustrating Sunday:
-2nd time in back-to-back weeks one of my starters goes down in the 1st half (Montgomery, and Clay)
-bleep Ajayi for 3 weeks in a row hasn't done bleep
-Should have and would have started Crabtree over Cobb, had David Carr been in
-And I DO have Aaron Jones, but he's on my bleep Practice Squad and can't promote him till next year!

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
ChefRob needs to come in and defend his boy. I've long thought that Montgomery is a replaceable talent but to be fair it did take the injury for it to happen. That said, I've also liked Jones as the favorite to take the job from him. It's one game so let's not get ahead of ourselves but him keeping the job would hardly be surprising.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Gotta love that I own Montgomery and Williams.
And I picked up Rawls instead of Jones in redraft..........lost by a point

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
To temper expectations a bit... I'm a hardcore Cowboys fan so take it w/ a grain of salt, but.... Sean Lee was out, he is the captain of our defense and the engine that stops the run. Honestly the Pack didn't run enough against us. Every time they ran they got chunk yardage, if not more. That's not to say I don't like Jones, but Trent Richardson would have gone for 100 today against us...

Jones has Minnesota next week, so that could temper expectations a bit.

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
To me, the thing about Jones is that he looks like a RB. Williams seems like a plodder to me and TyMont was a good receiving RB but never looked smooth running the ball to me. Jones looks to be the best fit.

Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
Montgomery wasn't going to be able to handle the workload he was being given. Scaling back to 10-15 touches makes sense. It can turn into a good version of a RBBC.
Re: Ty Montgomery job security?
One thing's for sure. Jones stock is up. He did not blow his opportunity. He looked the part and ran hard through contact.
