My biggest question of the week is around Beastmode ..

In evaluating the game, OAK @ BAL .. everything points to the Raiders having to run the ball, or become a run heavy offense for several reasons..

To help EJ Manuel seems to be one of the biggest considerations to why the need to used Marshawn Lynch, but to date we have only seen his touches decrease on a weekly basis, some thought is the Oakland is trying to "save" Marshawn for the end of the season .. This is also amplified that he should get the majority of the carries because DeAndre Washington has been limited in practice all week with a hamstring and is Q to play, leaves Richard who certainly can catch giving OAK that kind of dimension to their offense ..

So everything here, says, this is what I should see, but I am I going to see that, or do when I sit down to watch this game, I still only see Marshawn get around 10 carries, watch this offense try to throw on every down, and punt a lot?

They will use him a decent amount I'm sure - but this one is going to be ugly for Oakland.

I'm sure Richard and Washington get worked a lot too. If it isn't out of hand quickly (which I'm assuming it will be a close game throughout) then I imagine the raiders RBs getting around 30 touches, 15 to lynch, 15 split between Richard/Wash

Confuse? is that because his usage doesn't align with what you need for your fantasy team?

At this stage of his career, Lynch just isn't a workhouse. He'll probably end up averaging 13-15 carries per game with a couple big games sprinkled in here and there. Richard/Washington will continue to be used in some capacity, and at the very least they eliminate what little pass catching value Lynch may have had.

Lynch is a 31yo RB with well over 2k carries who hadn't played football in a year and really hadn't looked good on the field for another year or so on top of that. The days of "Beast Mode" are long gone. He may benefit from a different offensive game script while Carr is out though.

Lynch looks like a 31-year-old RB who took a year off. He's not a 20+ carries player anymore. If you're starting Lynch, your only hope is that he gets into the endzone. Otherwise, he's going to put up duds.

Yes, they will continue to use Lynch. And he will continue to be ineffective. This was the most predictable outcome of the off season.
