Will Pryor bounce back?

Postby Sou1Ca1iber » Mon Sep 25, 2017 5:16 pm

Question is in the title.. He has not looked at all like he did last year. I figured with an improved situation and QB and another year of experience then last year's numbers would not be hard to repeat. Now I find myself sitting him until further notice.

Do we think he'll turn it around as the year goes on, or was he a one year wonder on the Browns of all places?

I think he will get going. We probably shouldn't be surprised that guys like Pryor, Maclin, DJax, Cooks etc. are taking a little while to get going with their new teams and QBs.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Honestly, in my opinion - no.

I never thought he was great in Cleveland and we have a tendency to overvalue players way too quickly. That happened with Pryor.

He may have good games here and there like any player, but I think the time to sell was the offseason.

He's probably just another Braylon Edwards.

If you look at the advanced metrics from his season last year, they're actually pretty bad. Ton of targets but not a great catch rate (54.6%) (74th in the league), negative premium production (81st in the league), 74th in fantasy points per target. People likely chalked it up to being on a bad team with a bad QB, but if those numbers reflect who he really is then a good team with a good QB isn't going to put up with that kind of inefficiency. I've never really thought much about Pryor prior to this so I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other.

It was alarming that his home town team that was playmaker and WR needy let him go. All to sign Kenny Britt.

I think he'll bounce back but he might be more a WR3 type going forward.

As a redskins fan I am not impressed with Pryor. I do not think Cousins is either at this point.

He has not been getting separation, and he has had a major issue with drops already this season, I think 3 in the 1st 2 games. Also each game his targets have declined and now Docston is hopefully finally getting healthy.

I would stay away from Pryor at this point. About 3 weeks ago I was like most and extremely excited about him, luckily the owners in my leagues wanted more than I would pay for him so I didnt trade for him anyway.
