This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Grade my trade

Postby Cojo 2020 » Sat Sep 23, 2017 11:43 am

For the team in my sig...I just traded Duke Johnson and Charles Simms for what should be a high 3rd rounder in 2018. I needed some space on my bench for bye week replacements soon. Did I settle for too little?

Awful deal!

Why didn't you just drop Mostert and DeAngelo Williams? This likely won't matter much, but you gave away two guys who can help you this year for a lotto ticket that might be able to help you in the future.

I don't understand your taxi squad if a guy like Tevin Coleman can be on it, but Mostert and Breida wouldn't be.

lol, jeez.

I think Duke is worth a 2nd. With Crowell struggling I can see him getting more work, so I wouldn't have done that deal. Non-ppr he's not quite as intriguing, but then neither is a 3rd round pick probably.

I think Simms for a 3rd could be understood, but not the both. Would have dropped Mostert too.

I sent a 3rd for Duke this summer. I would have loved Simms too- Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky with the 3rd or will be able to use it in the future.

I'm also a bit confused by your Taxi slots- seems you might have some unique league settings that makes it hard for us to understand and analyze your trades.

Not loving the deal. Simms is on the wire in a few of my leagues.

And you realize of course, this is the week Duke blows up right? Now that he's done his rotation program 1st week as a RB and 2nd as a WR, week #3 is when he gets to be both. Netting something like 6 or 7 carries for 30-35 yards and 5 catches for 75-80 yards. Book it Danno!

I don't really place any value on 3rd round picks.

If this is a NON PPR, I suppose its fine (though I still would have wanted to hold onto Duke for a few more weeks with how poorly Crowell has looked...in case they start giving Duke more touches).

In a PPR, thats really low and Duke is probably worth a 2nd alone...Simms is worthless too me.

thanks gents and woo hoo, the Dynasty DeLorean read one a my comments!

The real question is "where does Duke go from here?" Was that an outlier week or the promise of more to come? Thinking it's likely the latter, but probably can't count on TD's every week from the Duke'ster. Cheers,

I would love to see Hue give Duke a legit workload...but he seems intent on making Crowell work. Duke has 17 total touches on the season...thats it (2, 7 and 8)...and 6 of of those are rushing attempts. That just seems way to low to me given his production on those touches so far and Crowells lack of production. I know Crowell is adored by many but I don't see it. Free Duke!
