Worried about the Steelers Studs?

Postby keebs3 » Mon Sep 18, 2017 7:55 am

I have Bell in one redraft league and Brown in another. I used my #1 picks on them in my respective leagues. Well, I'm about to go 0-2 in both leagues and these two are killing me. How worried should I be?

I'm not as concerned about Bell- he seems to be getting his touches now and will get better matchups. But, with MB back from suspension and with Browns age I'm getting concerned.

What do you guys think about the situation in Pittsburg?

Not sure what to say on this one... Antonio Brown is leading the NFL in receiving.....

Brown most certainly didn't hurt you in game 1. Week 2 he actually did pretty well matched up against a great cornerback in a game his team was handly winning. Bell's slow start probably isn't a suprise after his hold out either. 16r 244yds is pretty good after two games, sure we'd like to see the TDs, but they will come. Bell's will also once he gets into his groove.

Agree with the comments above...I have no concern whatsoever. Also, don't forget the "h" in Pittsburgh! lol

I have Kareem Hunt in two of my main leagues and I have lost both weeks, both leagues. How concerned should I be about what is going on in KC?

Should probably drop him.

The Steelers offence looked like hot garbage in week 1. It was completely out of sync. Bryant didn't look good, Bell didn't look good and neither did the Oline. They did look better in week 2, although it was a tough matchup. Minnesota has a good D. The Oline was frequently getting pushed back so Bell struggled to even get back to the LOS at times. There was a lot of improvement over week 1 though. The Steelers will have easier matchups in the future and Bell and Bryant will shake off any rust they had. There's really nothing to talk about with Brown. He will be just fine. He simply had a tough matchup this week. That's part of football. Defenders sometimes win their matchups

Haha my lord these posts start to weigh on me a bit. The NFL offense through 2 weeks has been shady at best and tons of good/great players are under performing.

Everything will be ok.

Pitt was still forcing the ball to AB yesterday and he did draw a pretty big PI or two. I would not be worried at all.

Brown has historically been better with Martavis on the field. Long as Big Ben is healthy they'll all be fine.

Is OP's sentiment common? If so, I need to go send some offers for AB and Bell...

I had a new guy to fantasy at work once that told me he was considering trading AB for a TE (back when AB got injured) ...

He told me later that he was genuinely scared of me with my reaction .. do NOT make me go postal. You have PIT studs ffs. (he didn't dare trade AB btw, he waited patiently for his return and won his league his first year, $300).

Sheesh everyone, ease off, eh? I mainly was wondering if people though age was becoming an issue on that team. I'm not even thinking about trading them right now. I've started 0-4 and snuck into the playoffs before winning it all- I can be patient.
I think with AB I was reacting because I also own Baldwin and Fitz who also had a rough weekend. Yes it was an overact, so sue me!

The concern is the same as it always is; how many games will Ben miss?

As for being concerned about the Steelers "studs" because of the first two games, there's no need for concern at all. Brown almost certainly will be a top 3 WR at season's end (at worst), and with the other two you're looking at players who are still getting up to speed and shaking off the rust. Bell missed the entire off-season and Bryant has been off the field for a year. It shouldn't have been expected for Bell/Bryant to dominate right out of the gate. All things considered I'm more optimistic than concerned as long as Ben is healthy, and for Bell there's not that much concern even if Ben does get hurt.

Vikings fan here. Watched the entire game on Sunday. Bell is fine. He looked like himself. You could tell the Vikings were playing to limit him, and they are a pretty good defense. AB drew at least one long pass interference call as well. Both will be fine.
